We’re proud to serve the frontline, we’re privileged to connect people in times of crisis across the globe, and we’re honored to support first responders.\n\nAnd this is where you come in.\n\nZello is the push-to-talk platform that connects millions of frontline workers, and the AI & Data team builds the agent systems that run the business behind it. We have more high-value AI work than we have capacity to build, and we need someone who can both ship it and hold a real engineering standard around it. You would be the person who makes our agent work genuinely engineered - tested, reviewed, monitored - and who raises how everyone here builds.\n\n\nAFTER A SUCCESSFUL FIRST YEAR, YOU WILL\n\n - Shipped and operated production agent systems that people across Zello use every day\n\n - Made evals-driven development the team's default, so every agent ships with an eval suite and monitoring\n\n - Owned the code review bar for agent work and raised the standard it is held to\n\n - Measurably levelled up teammates' engineering craft through review, pairing and coaching\n\n - Cut the time it takes to move an agent from prototype to production\n\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\n\n - Build LLM-backed systems end to end and put them in front of people who are not engineers\n\n - Design eval suites and monitoring before shipping, not after something breaks\n\n - Review agent pull requests and explain why a design will or will not hold up\n\n - Operate what you ship: triage drift, chase down silent failures, fix root causes\n\n - Set engineering conventions the team actually adopts - testing, structure, error handling\n\n - Pair with and coach teammates who are strong analysts and newer to software craft\n\n - Tell us when AI is the wrong tool for a problem, before we build it\n\n\nWHO YOU ARE\n\n - You learned to program properly, and you can reason about code you did not write\n\n - You build things nobody asked you to build\n\n - You treat tests and evals as part of shipping, not as cleanup afterwards\n\n - You give code review feedback people act on, and you coach rather than direct\n\n - You connect engineering standards to outcomes rather than to taste\n\n - You hold a high bar without making people feel small about it\n\n - You have operated production systems that other people depended on\n\n\nTHIS ROLE IS NOT\n\n - Not a research role. No papers, no training models from scratch\n\n - Not a front-end or product design role. The interfaces here are internal and functional\n\n - Not a management track. This is an individual contributor seat with real influence over how the team builds\n\n - Not a prompt-engineering role. This is software engineering applied to AI systems\n\nWe hire for potential, passion for our mission, and a knack for solving difficult problems over checking every qualification box. We have competitive pay, equity with significant upside, and intentionally design our benefits to encourage healthy and well-balanced employees, flexible schedules and time off. We even offer a sabbatical after every five years of service so you’re able to pursue and enjoy what matters most to you. And of course, we wouldn’t be a technology company without a ping-pong table and free snacks in our break room. This role exists to close that gap: build the pipeline-generation system that puts Zello’s story in front of the accounts that matter and turns their interest into sales conversations.\n\n\nAFTER A SUCCESSFUL FIRST YEAR, YOU WILL HAVE\n\n - Built a repeatable enterprise demand generation engine that produces a predictable monthly volume of sales-accepted opportunities from target accounts.\n\n - Launched an account-based program against a defined target account list, with measurable engagement lift and named-account meetings sourced.\n\n - Rebuilt the inbound-to-sales handoff with the account executive team — scoring and routing defined, time from inquiry to meeting cut, and inquiry-to-opportunity conversion improved.\n\n - Shipped integrated campaigns carrying Zello’s enterprise story across paid, web, email, and events, each reporting pipeline attribution monthly.\n\n - Instrumented campaign measurement so every program carries a cost-per-opportunity and pipeline-contribution number the revenue team trusts.\n\n\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\n\n - Own enterprise demand generation end to end — the strategy, the execution, and the pipeline number it produces.\n\n - Build the target account list with sales leadership, then run the account-based campaigns that penetrate it.\n\n - Design lead scoring and routing in HubSpot, then revise it based on what actually converts.\n\n - Translate Zello’s positioning into integrated campaigns across paid media, the website, lifecycle email, and events.\n\n - Partner with account executives on pipeline quality — sit in pipeline reviews, follow the handoff, fix what breaks.\n\n - Direct paid media and lifecycle execution through contractors, agencies, and shared design and RevOps resources.\n\n - Report performance monthly: spend, cost per opportunity, and pipeline contribution by program.\n\n - Pick up selected existing marketing programs during the transition — final scope confirmed with the hiring manager.\n\n\nWHO YOU ARE\n\n - You’ve owned a pipeline number rather than a lead number, and you can walk through exactly how you moved it.\n\n - You’ve built a demand generation program from target definition through to sales-accepted opportunity — not just executed campaigns someone else scoped.\n\n - You’ve run account-based campaigns against a named list and can show the engagement and meetings that came out of them.\n\n - You bring sales in before launch rather than after — the account executives you’ve worked with would call you easy to work with.\n\n - You cut programs that aren’t producing and say so early, instead of defending the spend.\n\n - You build the measurement yourself, present the number, and hold up under questioning from revenue leadership.\n\n - You have 4–7 years in B2B growth or demand generation as an individual contributor.\n\n - You work hands-on in HubSpot, or a comparable marketing automation platform, building workflows, scoring, and reporting without waiting for support.\n\n\nTHIS ROLE IS NOT\n\n - A management role.
