As an Engineering Manager on the Platform team, you'll lead the engineers responsible for cloud infrastructure, deployment systems, CI/CD, observability, reliability, and the internal tooling that powers engineering velocity across the company. Airbyte is building the runtime that powers production-grade AI agents.
This is not an ML research or prompt engineering role. We’re looking for an experienced backend or platform engineer who has built complex production systems and has also worked hands-on with AI agents, orchestration, retrieval, or LLM-powered applications.
Our AI Runtime sits between language models and the enterprise systems agents need to understand and act on. It is responsible for assembling the right context, identifying entities across systems, selecting tools and connectors, coordinating execution, validating evidence, enforcing permissions, and handling failures safely.
A user may ask something simple like:
“Investigate this customer and tell me what changed.”
Behind that request, the runtime may need to identify the customer across multiple systems, retrieve fresh data, determine which tools to call, coordinate multiple steps, validate the result, and return an answer with evidence the user can trust.
That infrastructure is what you’ll help build.
We’re still early. The architecture is taking shape, but there is significant room to influence how the runtime is designed, how developers interact with it, and how we make agentic systems reliable in production.
Build the Runtime
Design and implement the orchestration layer that turns natural-language intent into reliable, multi-step execution.
Build systems for routing, state management, retries, failure handling, and long-running agent workflows.
Develop systems for entity resolution, context assembly, connector orchestration, and evidence retrieval.
Build reusable Skills that encapsulate business workflows and domain-specific capabilities.
Coordinate connectors, APIs, tools, deterministic logic, retrieval systems, and multiple language models.
Build Reliable AI Infrastructure
Design systems that retrieve and assemble the right enterprise context at runtime.

You'll be the infrastructure and reliability engineer on the Data Replication team - a full-stack product team running over 3 million sync jobs a week powering thousands of data use cases across multiple regions and clouds. As Airbyte's Accounting Manager, you’ll own the day-to-day of our accounting operations and reporting - and you’ll help us rebuild how that work gets done, replacing manual processes and outsourced accounting firm dependencies with clean, automated, in-house workflows.
We currently run a lean model with an outsourced accounting firm and a Senior Accountant. You’ll manage both, and over time help us bring accounting back in-house - taking ownership of more of the function as you go. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Ideally a Big 4 audit and startup combined background.
Working knowledge of US GAAP, including revenue recognition (ASC 606) and lease accounting (ASC 842).
Strong systems instincts - you’ve evaluated, implemented, or redesigned accounting workflows and tools, and you reach for automation before manual effort.
Tech-savvy and genuinely AI-curious - you’ve explored (or are eager to explore) how automation and AI can transform accounting, and you like building.

As an Airbyte Senior Solutions Architect, you will serve as a trusted post-sales technical partner to enterprise customers, helping them successfully onboard, implement, adopt, and expand their use of Airbyte.
You will own the technical customer relationship after the sale, working closely with customer engineering, platform, infrastructure, and data teams to understand their environment, guide implementation, troubleshoot issues, and ensure they are getting long-term value from Airbyte.
This is also a highly hands-on technical role. A major part of the job involves working directly in customer Kubernetes environments to deploy, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize Airbyte in production. You should be comfortable getting into the weeds with customers across workloads, pods, networking, storage, resource management, APIs, databases, CDC, and data movement issues.
You will act as the bridge between customers and Airbyte’s Support, Product, Engineering, and Sales teams, serving as the internal source of truth for customer technical needs while helping drive adoption, retention, and expansion.

Advise customers on integrating LLM-based tooling and AI workflows into their existing data infrastructure alongside Airbyte connectors.
Partner closely with Product and Engineering to surface recurring customer challenges and influence the roadmap.
Collaborate with Support to resolve complex technical issues and improve escalation paths.
Work with Sales to identify technical opportunities for expansion within existing customers.
Help improve onboarding playbooks, implementation guides, troubleshooting documentation, and customer best practices.

6+ years of experience in a customer-facing post-sales technical role such as Solutions Architect, Technical Account Manager, Resident Solutions Architect, Professional Services Engineer, Customer Engineer, or technical consultant.
Experience owning long-term technical relationships with enterprise customers across onboarding, implementation, adoption, troubleshooting, and expansion.
Strong, hands-on Kubernetes experience in production environments. You should be comfortable independently troubleshooting workloads, pods, deployments, networking, storage, resource management, logs, and cluster-level issues.
Experience deploying, operating, or troubleshooting applications running on Kubernetes, not just designing or advising on Kubernetes architecture.
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and production systems.

Get hands-on with customers building and debugging integrations, helping them navigate Airbyte's database sources and destinations with confidence, from authentication and SSL/SSH setup to CDC, schema evolution, incremental cursors, and typed destination tables.
Validate database version compatibility across supported engines and releases, maintain testing environments, and reproduce customer-reported behavior on real database and warehouse instances.
Support customers writing to data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift), data lakes and object storage (S3, GCS, Azure Blob, Databricks, Iceberg), and databases (Postgres, MySQL, MSSQL, ClickHouse), including schema evolution and typed-columns behavior.
Help customers running database sources (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and more) troubleshoot replication behavior, cursor selection, full-refresh vs. incremental vs. CDC trade-offs, and sync state recovery.
Contribute directly to Airbyte's open-source database connectors and the Java/Kotlin Bulk CDK: fix bugs, improve error handling, harden schema-evolution and CDC paths, and submit pull requests to the Airbyte repository.
Review and test community contributions to database sources and destinations, helping external contributors land high-quality changes.
Stay sharp on Airbyte's connector catalog, new database and destination releases, and platform updates so your guidance is always accurate and timely.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Enablement
Be the voice of the customer within Airbyte, working closely with Engineering and Product to surface issues, advocate for feature requests, and ensure customer pain points actually influence the database reliability and performance roadmap.

2+ years in software engineering, data engineering, technical support, DevOps, QA, or a similar role supporting developers or technical users.
Fluency in SQL, with hands-on experience investigating query plans, isolation levels, and performance bottlenecks.
Proficiency in Java or Kotlin. You must be able to read, write, and debug JVM-based connector code. You'll be contributing to database sources and destinations, the Bulk CDK, and automation tooling.

Airbyte is seeking an experienced Enterprise Account Executive to join our growing sales organization. In this role, you will own a defined portfolio of enterprise accounts and be responsible for generating, progressing, and closing new business across Airbyte’s product offerings.
You will work a mix of qualified inbound opportunities and strategically selected target accounts, while building relationships and creating demand across your territory. You will primarily engage with CTO, CIO, data, and engineering organizations, working with stakeholders ranging from data engineers and architects to senior business and technology executives.
A successful candidate will be comfortable navigating complex technical environments, leading multi-stakeholder sales processes, and connecting technical capabilities to measurable business outcomes. A foundational understanding of cloud infrastructure, the modern data stack, APIs, data integration, and database replication is strongly preferred. Candidates with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn complex technical concepts will also be considered.
This is a new-business-focused role. Success will be driven by landing strategic customers, establishing Airbyte within an initial use case, and creating a clear path toward broader adoption across the organization. You will join a fast-growing company with a strong product-led motion, a highly technical customer base, and a significant market opportunity.
Own the full enterprise sales cycle, from account development and discovery through technical evaluation, proposal, negotiation, procurement, and closed-won.
Build and maintain a healthy pipeline through a combination of qualified inbound opportunities, targeted outbound prospecting, partner engagement, and strategic account development.
Develop trusted relationships across technical, business, and executive stakeholders within enterprise accounts.
Lead effective discovery to uncover customer challenges, business priorities, technical requirements, and decision criteria.
Apply value-selling principles and Airbyte’s sales methodology, including Command of the Message and MEDDPICC, to quantify customer pain, establish urgency, differentiate Airbyte, and maintain control of the sales process.
Build clear and compelling business cases that connect Airbyte’s technical capabilities to measurable customer outcomes.
Partner closely with Solutions Engineering to scope, manage, and successfully complete technical evaluations and proofs of value.
Navigate complex security, legal, procurement, and commercial processes.
Create account strategies that support both initial adoption and long-term expansion.
Maintain accurate opportunity, pipeline, MEDDPICC, and forecast information.
Consistently achieve or exceed quarterly bookings targets.
Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Engineering, Customer Success, and other internal teams to share market feedback, competitive intelligence, customer requirements, and product opportunities.
3-5+ years of B2B sales experience within SaaS, cloud infrastructure, developer tools, or data technology, including at least 1-2+ years selling into enterprise accounts.
A demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding quota in a new-business sales role.
Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles.
Experience using structured enterprise sales methodologies such as Command of the Message, MEDDPICC, and value-based selling.
A proven ability to uncover and quantify business pain, build compelling value propositions, establish urgency, and navigate enterprise decision-making processes.
Confidence engaging both technical practitioners and executive buyers.
The ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear business value.
Strong prospecting, discovery, presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
Excellent organization, pipeline management, and forecasting discipline.
Direct experience with data infrastructure, cloud platforms, data integration, or the modern data stack is strongly preferred.
A proactive, curious, accountable, and collaborative working style.
The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Remote in U.S. (Central and Eastern timezone)
