Schemas is the layer where our customers model their data. It’s a codeless configuration system powering all of Benchling's applications, representing a software abstraction around scientific data and processes. This system enables Benchling to ingest and store data at scale. You own the foundation that the rest of the product, and other Benchling teams, build on.
We’re looking for someone who owns the hard product calls and is the person customers, the field, and engineers come to for the answer, not someone who routes the question to engineering and waits for a reply. You’ll set the direction for the platform primitives, like computed fields, fieldsets, constraints, static properties, and data versioning, that speed up every team building on top of Schemas, and you’ll ship toward that direction incrementally while keeping the platform stable for the admins and developers who depend on it.

Anything built in Schemas has to work for a wide range of customers and for the other teams building on it, so this role rewards a systems thinker who’s genuinely curious about the science and about how developers and admins actually use the product.

Benchling is building a world-class Customer Experience organization to drive the adoption of our platform across our rapidly growing customer base. The Technical Account Manager (TAM) plays a key role within the Optimization Services organization through directly supporting our customers as they leverage Benchling to transform how their research teams work together, post-go-live.
This role is based in Boston and will serve as the primary TAM supporting Benchling’s customer base, with an emphasis on enterprise life science accounts. The successful candidate will bring existing Benchling product expertise and the ability to quickly take ownership of an established book of business, including accounts with complex, multi-workstream Success Packages.
The TAM works closely with Customer Success, Professional Services, and Support, in order to deliver a high quality, proactive Benchling experience for our customers. This role requires strong scientific acumen, project management skills, the ability to build trust with stakeholders ranging from bench scientists to heads of R&D and IT leadership.
You will collaborate closely with internal and external teams to influence best practices and direction of the customers’ post-go-live experience. You will be responsible for liaising with key customer stakeholders to optimize their Benchling experience and be the point person for escalation management. You will be responsible for delivering on the commitments of Optimization Services within the Benchling Success Packages and delivery of commitments will include maintaining the client relationship and Benchling instance via regularly scheduled meetings and check-ins. Benchling is building Intelligence Engineering & Enablement, a small autonomous team within our Security & IT organization. We own three things: internal AI tooling, adoption, and AI-assisted workflows across the company; cross-functional and company-wide agentic AI applications that span departmental boundaries; and the source-of-truth datasets, pipelines, and analytics that all of the above depend on, in partnership with our Data, Analytics & Systems team. We span the bridge between departmental AI experimentation and enterprise-grade agentic systems in production — rapidly prototyping new solutions, and graduating proven prototypes into hardened, well-governed systems with full SDLC rigor. This is an AI systems engineering role — we want someone who builds reliable production systems around modern foundation models, not someone who trains models from scratch. Model research or ML engineering experience is welcome but not the bar.

We set the patterns, standards, and shared infrastructure that let departmental teams and AI power users across the company build their own solutions, and we take on the agentic systems that no single team owns. Build and ship the early portfolio yourself: Write production code at least half your time, particularly during the team's first year. Graduate prototypes from the AI Product Manager's discovery cycles into hardened, production-grade systems and own production support under a \"you build it, you run it\" model.
Design for enterprise from day one: Build for multi-tenant isolation, secrets management, audit logging, payload encryption, role-based access controls, and human-in-the-loop controls calibrated to risk. Partner with Security Engineering on threat modeling for agentic architectures — prompt injection, tool misuse, data exfiltration vectors.
Enable builders across the company: Coach power users and departmental teams on production patterns, develop the criteria that decide which prototypes graduate into enterprise-grade systems, and build the internal-facing developer experience — templates, SDKs, sandboxes — that lets builders outside this team ship safely.
Partner across functions: Work closely with our Data, Analytics & Systems team peers on the source-of-truth datasets and pipelines that agentic systems depend on. Engage with department leaders on the workflows we're transforming, and with Benchling's platform and infrastructure teams to leverage existing capabilities rather than build parallel systems.
Elevate engineering standards: Set the bar for code quality, testing and evaluation, documentation, and on-call practices. Drive technical hiring through interview loop design, bar-raising in interviews, and representing the team to senior candidates. Mentor engineers on the team and other AI builders across the company.
7+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems, with strong systems design fundamentals.
Hands-on experience building production systems that integrate with LLMs and/or agentic patterns: orchestration, tool use, memory and state management, evaluation, and observability.
Demonstrated understanding of how to optimize workloads across deterministic and non-deterministic capabilities, striking the right architectural balance for the needs of the specific solution being implemented.
Production experience with at least two of: Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Go; comfort with working across the stack.
Hands-on expertise with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic), agentic frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI), RAG over business content (Confluence, contracts, policies), vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone), workflow automation (n8n, Langflow), and LLM observability and evaluation tooling (LangSmith, Arize).
Track record of going from zero to one: a platform, function, or product area you built up from scratch and scaled.
Experience operating in regulated or security-sensitive environments. Solid grasp of enterprise security fundamentals — encryption, access controls, audit logging, secrets management.

Carry a Strategic Book of Business
Directly owns a small portfolio of strategic/enterprise accounts as the named CSM, with full responsibility for adoption, value realization, and renewal influence.
Model the customer engagement standard expected of the team (EBRs, multi-threading, adoption planning) using these accounts to stay close to the realities of the role and the product.
Use direct customer exposure to sharpen coaching, identify systemic gaps, and feed credible voice-of-customer back into Product, PS, and Sales.
Customer Advocacy and Support
Serve as a senior point of contact for complex or high-priority customer engagements, supporting CSMs in addressing challenging situations.
Champion the voice of the customer within Benchling, providing feedback to internal teams to drive product improvements and innovation.
Guide CSMs in navigating complex customer organizations to build multi-threaded relationships and drive consensus on adoption strategies.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in Customer Success, Professional Services, or a related field within SaaS.
2+ years in a management role.
Strong understanding of Life Sciences R&D, process development, or related scientific domains
Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
Excellent communication skills, able to build relationships across technical and business stakeholders at all levels.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience leveraging a modern CS tech stack, including CRM (e.g., Salesforce), customer success platforms (e.g., Gainsight), data/analytics tools (e.g., Mode, Sigma), and AI-assisted productivity tools (e.g., Claude).

The Model Hub team is building a computational platform that provides access to cutting-edge scientific AI models to help scientists design better drugs. Benchling is building a world-class Professional Services team to drive implementations for our rapidly expanding customer base. Implementation Managers work with our customers, from small Biotech startups to the largest BioPharmas in the world to develop a deep understanding of their R&D Processes, and roll out solutions that transform how their research teams work together.

We are looking for an experienced Sales Compensation Analyst to join our Revenue Operations team. In this role, you will be a key partner to our Sales organization — ensuring our compensation programs are accurate, competitive, and designed to motivate and reward top performance.

As an Inside Sales Representative, you'll be embedded within Benchling's Enterprise sales organization — partnering directly with 2-3 Enterprise Account Executives to drive growth across our largest, most complex accounts. You'll own outbound prospecting into these accounts and close smaller deals and renewals independently, while learning the full enterprise sales motion from some of the best in the business.

Drive outbound prospecting activities — cold calling, sequenced email, and multi-thread outreach — into Benchling's largest accounts
Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by developing deep understanding of their existing and future R&D workflows and roadmap
Partner with Customer Success Managers to identify product expansion opportunities within the existing user base
Build and maintain rigorous Account Plans, Org Maps, and Opportunity documentation to support coordinated account strategy
Contribute to consistent attainment of revenue and booking targets within assigned territory
Life science background required — either a bachelor's degree in a life science discipline (e.g., molecular biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, biochemistry) or direct experience selling into pharma, biotech, or life science organizations
1–3 years of experience in a Sales Development or Inside Sales role, ideally with exposure to enterprise or complex accounts
Demonstrated track record of consistent, high-volume outbound activity and strong conversion
Strong verbal and written communication skills — you can translate scientific complexity into business value
Experience with account planning, organizational mapping, or structured sales methodologies
Self-motivated and methodical: you don't wait to be told what to do, and you follow through on what you commit to
Nice to have:
Prior experience selling into Top 20 Pharma or large biotech accounts

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytically strong Financial Analyst to join our Strategic Finance team, reporting to the Strategic Finance Leader for the Field. Strong understanding and substantial knowledge of complex financial modeling, GAAP accounting and FP&A best practices
Strong Communication Skills - ability to think logically, rationally, and strategically in order to distill and articulate complex data to drive business decisions. Experience presenting analyses to management and ability to lead and drive initiatives
Proficiency in Excel/Sheets and a planning tool (Adaptive, Anaplan, or equivalent) required. Salesforce and Certinia experience is a strong plus.

The Process Development team builds the workflow platform that enables biotech and pharmaceutical companies to design, execute, and track complex scientific manufacturing processes at scale. Our workflow engine is the foundational layer — a system that lets scientists and operators model their processes as structured workflows and then execute them reliably, whether one person is doing everything or an entire team is coordinating across steps.
As a Software Engineer on this team, you'll work full-stack across the workflow engine, recipes, and assays — the core systems that Benchling customers depend on to run their operations. You'll build features that show up directly in how scientists manage manufacturing workflows, contribute to a platform layer that other Benchling teams are beginning to adopt, and help shape how AI tooling gets integrated into the engineering culture of this team.
Build and maintain core features across the workflow engine, recipes, and assays — full-stack across backend services and frontend product surfaces
Contribute to the data layer modeling that underpins workflow graph structures and task execution tracking
Build products on top of the workflow orchestration engine for industry standard processes

We're looking for a product manager who thinks like a developer advocate and acts like a platform strategist. This role sits at the intersection of systems integration and developer experience and as AI transforms how scientists work, the stakes have never been higher. The world's most innovative life sciences teams are already building agentic R&D workflows on top of Benchling, and they need a platform that can keep up. Your job is to understand what they're building, identify the gaps before they become blockers, and make the case internally for what needs to get built next.
You'll own the developer platform roadmap, serve as the internal voice of the external developer, and ensure that customer and partner learnings shape priorities across the Build org. This is a role for someone who is always six months ahead, anticipating what cutting-edge life sciences teams will need to build next, and making sure Benchling is ready when they get there.
Own the end-to-end roadmap for Benchling's developer-facing products: REST APIs, MCPs, SDKs, API playground, code examples, and code recipes.
Our most sophisticated customers are building agentic R&D workflows on top of Benchling and need primitives that don't exist yet. You'll define what those primitives are, get them built, and make sure developers can actually use them.
Our partner ecosystem (Quilt, Calira, Code Ocean, Seqera, and others) needs extensibility that scales beyond one-off integrations. You'll work cross-functionally with Solutions Engineering, Partnerships, and Customer Success to build the platform foundation that makes this possible.
Developers who try to build on Benchling today hit walls fast — in our docs, our APIs, and our support. You'll own the developer experience end-to-end and close the gap between what developers expect and what we deliver.
We don't have a clear line of sight into how developers are actually using our platform. You'll establish the feedback loops through interviews, support signals, and usage data and make sure those learnings shape roadmap decisions across the Build org.
3-5 years of product management experience, with hands-on ownership of API, SDK, or developer platform products
Technical fluency: you can read code, review API specs, and have credible conversations with engineers. You don't need to ship production code, but you need to deeply understand the systems you're building

Benchling is building a world-class Professional Services team to drive implementations for our rapidly expanding customer base. Benchling is building a world-class Customer Experience organization to drive the adoption of our platform across our rapidly growing customer base. The Technical Account Manager (TAM) plays a key role within the Optimization Services organization through directly supporting our customers as they leverage Benchling to transform how their research teams work together, post-go-live.

Benchling is seeking an experienced customer-facing Global Program Manager (GPM) to oversee the post-sale experience for our largest Enterprise customers. Benchling is building a world-class Professional Services team to drive implementations for our rapidly expanding customer base. Benchling is building Intelligence Engineering & Enablement, a small autonomous team within our Security & IT organization. We own three things: internal AI tooling, adoption, and AI-assisted workflows across the company; cross-functional and company-wide agentic AI applications that span departmental boundaries; and the source-of-truth datasets, pipelines, and analytics that all of the above depend on, in partnership with our Data, Analytics & Systems team. We span the bridge between departmental AI experimentation and enterprise-grade agentic systems in production — rapidly prototyping new solutions, and graduating proven prototypes into hardened, well-governed systems with full SDLC rigor. This is an AI systems engineering role — we want someone who builds reliable production systems around modern foundation models, not someone who trains models from scratch. Model research or ML engineering experience is welcome but not the bar.
We're built to be enablers. We set the patterns, standards, and shared infrastructure that let departmental teams and AI power users across the company build their own solutions, and we take on the agentic systems that no single team owns. It's early days for enterprise agentic AI at Benchling, and we'll be moving fast — iterating on prototypes, learning from internal customers, and changing direction as the field matures.
As the founding engineer for this team, you'll own the technical direction, architecture, and delivery of our agentic AI portfolio. Partner with Security Engineering on threat modeling for agentic architectures — prompt injection, tool misuse, data exfiltration vectors.
Enable builders across the company: Coach power users and departmental teams on production patterns, develop the criteria that decide which prototypes graduate into enterprise-grade systems, and build the internal-facing developer experience — templates, SDKs, sandboxes — that lets builders outside this team ship safely.
Partner across functions: Work closely with our Data, Analytics & Systems team peers on the source-of-truth datasets and pipelines that agentic systems depend on. Engage with department leaders on the workflows we're transforming, and with Benchling's platform and infrastructure teams to leverage existing capabilities rather than build parallel systems.
Elevate engineering standards: Set the bar for code quality, testing and evaluation, documentation, and on-call practices. 7+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems, with strong systems design fundamentals.
Hands-on experience building production systems that integrate with LLMs and/or agentic patterns: orchestration, tool use, memory and state management, evaluation, and observability.
Demonstrated understanding of how to optimize workloads across deterministic and non-deterministic capabilities, striking the right architectural balance for the needs of the specific solution being implemented.

We are looking for an experienced Strategic Financial Analyst, CX to join our Strategic Finance team, reporting to the Strategic Finance Leader, Sales & CX. Benchling is building a world-class Professional Services team to drive implementations for our rapidly expanding customer base. Implementation Managers work with our customers, from small Biotech startups to the largest BioPharmas in the world to develop a deep understanding of their R&D Processes, and roll out solutions that transform how their research teams work together.
To be successful in this role, you will leverage your scientific background, project management skills, and product expertise to drive successful implementations of the Benchling platform. You will work hand in hand with the research scientists at our customers, and teams throughout Benchling to implement our solutions, and ensure our customers are successful. Implementation Managers lead all aspects of customer rollouts from requirements analysis and solution design, to configurations, testing, training, and onboarding users onto the system.
Manage initial rollouts for new Benchling customers as well as expansion projects with new teams or for new processes at existing customers
Own implementation success from project kickoff to go-live, leveraging strong project management skills, scientific expertise, and deep product knowledge.
Build and execute detailed project plans, own project activities, work with other team members to execute on project deliverables to ensure on time, on budget, high quality deployments.

At least 2 years of experience in a lab or R&D setting, ideally in antibody discovery or strain engineering or process development. You must be able to empathize with scientists and quickly understand complicated scientific concepts.
