Column's Growth team is focused on managing our highly strategic customer relationships. As a member of the Growth team, you’ll be responsible for building and overseeing all aspects of our customer management while acting as a trusted partner, advisor and advocate for a wide variety of customers. Payment Operations is a critical pillar of delivering a best-in-class banking experience for our customers. As a core member of this growing team, you’ll help scale Column’s payment operations function—from developing robust internal processes to providing white-glove support for payment-related customer requests. What you’ll do
Design and implement systems to optimize, automate, and scale our operational workload using technical skills like Retool, SQL, Python, and Javascript.
Operate and continuously improve Column’s end-to-end payment operations processes, spanning ACH, wire, RTP, FedNow, and checks.
Manage the payment operations queue—triaging, investigating, and resolving both customer and external bank inquiries.
Develop and maintain key performance metrics and dashboards to track the health and efficiency of operations.
Partner with Engineering, Business, Compliance, Risk, and Customer teams to ensure consistent, accurate, and compliant resolution of issues.
Document processes, playbooks, and internal knowledge to enable onboarding and future scale.
Contribute to ongoing risk management by identifying operational risks and suggesting process or tooling improvements.
What you’ll need to be successful
Bachelor’s degree
Lightweight technical skills (SQL, Javascript, Python) with an aptitude to learn quickly/use AI
Familiarity with NACHA operating rules, wire transfer standards, and payment processing concepts.

Column's Financial Crimes team is responsible for protecting the Bank and its customers from money laundering, fraud, economic sanction evaluations, foreign corruption, and terrorist financing violations. Our program is designed to ensure the Bank, U. S. financial system, and our country are protected from illicit actors who exploit banking services with nefarious and criminal intent.
The AML Analyst role performs L1 triage investigations of transaction monitoring system-generated alerts and referrals, including identifying root causes of the alert, sources and uses of funds, and potentially suspicious activity. This role is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about the world of financial crimes, and who is interested in gaining experience across a wide variety of fintech customer types, use cases, and flow of funds to accelerate their AML career.
This role is a fixed-term contract, remote position with an initial contract duration of six months and the potential to extend based on performance.
Perform extensive investigations related to transaction monitoring and customer due diligence that could implicate potential money laundering, fraud, or terrorist financing
Prepare and document triage investigations and their dispositions according to FINCEN/FFIEC expectations and Bank Procedures
Prepare detailed escalation and dismissal narratives per FFIEC expectations and Bank procedures
Maintain organized documentation related to financial crimes activities, including investigations, audits, and regulatory exams
Perform day-to-day activities consistent with safe and sound business practices and regulatory requirements
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience performing investigations for a regulated financial institution
2+ years of experience with BSA/AML and OFAC laws and regulations
CAMS certification preferred, but not required
Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

2+ years of experience in high-growth environments, including management consulting, financial regulatory agency, financial services and/or fintech

Compensation packages at Column include base salary, equity, and benefits. New hire offers are made based on a candidate's experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.
The annual base salary range for this role is $115,000 - $130,000 + equity.

As a Partner Engineer at Column, you'll partner with tech-forward companies to build financial products and solutions using Column's APIs. This is a highly cross-functional role: you'll work closely with engineering, business, operations, legal, and compliance teams to support customer implementations and expand customer activity on Column—directly contributing to the growth of our business.

Own strategy and execution for Column's highest-stakes internal and external moments — customer-facing events, company offsites, board meetings, brand activations, and conference presence.

Column is hiring for a Digital Assets Compliance role to define, build, and operate Column's compliance framework for its crypto products. The GENIUS Act and other federal guidelines have started to clarify how banks can provide digital asset services. Against this backdrop, Column is looking for someone to support the ongoing development of practical systems that protect the bank while enabling innovation. This isn't a box-checking compliance role. We need a builder who understands that compliance done right is a competitive advantage — it unlocks partnerships, accelerates product velocity, and builds trust with regulators. As Column’s Emerging Markets Lead, you will spearhead one of our most strategic international expansion initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for driving 0-to-1 growth for a new banking product by building and nurturing relationships with prospective partners and customers in select markets, with a specific focus on Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Many banks treat Risk as a cost center - Column treats it as a competitive advantage. Our ability to take on new customers, expand into new product areas, and successfully operate under regulatory scrutiny depends entirely on the quality of our Risk programs. As we grow, the volume and complexity of that work will outpace what the team can absorb - that’s where this role comes in.
This is a strategic operations role that lives inside our Risk function. It’s less about being a Risk expert and more about being an exceptional operator who is energized by learning new domains quickly, spotting inefficiencies, and building the tools to fix them. You’ll work closely with a variety of teams across Column (e.g., Engineering, People, Compliance, Legal, etc.) to figure out which processes and programs are slowing us down. By the time you’re done with a project, tasks that took days should take minutes, and you’ll have a deep understanding of what it takes to operate one of the most strategically important functions to our business.
This role reports to the Head of Technology Risk and is in-person based out of our San Francisco Presidio office 3-4 days a week.
Plug into whichever Risk program needs the most support at a given moment - third-party risk management, information security, model risk, privacy, financial, operational, etc. - and figure out what’s broken, slow, or missing.
Learn each program from the ground up - understand what it’s actually protecting against, how it works in practice, and where the gaps are. Then re-design it so it’s faster and more consistent.
Build the tooling that makes the next version of a process possible - scripts, internal dashboards, AI-assisted review workflows, system integrations.
Support third-party diligence and monitoring, helping assess vendor/supplier risk and turning your findings into concrete remediation steps.
Help design business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) exercises that test how Column and its partners actually respond when things go wrong.
Take our privacy program to the next level, and make sure privacy considerations are part of the way we diligence prospective customers from the start.
2+ years of doing something hard. This could be in consulting, technical operations, software engineering, or any role where you had to make sense of a complex system, improve it, and get others to adopt the change. Prior risk experience is not required - we’ll teach you the domain.
You get up to speed fast. You’re the person who can be handed an unfamiliar problem, spend a week understanding it, and come back with a point of view.
You have an optimization instinct. When you see a manual process, your first question is \"could this be automated?\" and you have the skills to actually build the tooling necessary to make that happen. You've automated meaningful pieces of your own job before.
Technical fluency is no problem for you. You’re comfortable in the terminal, writing or modifying Python, Go, Apps Script code. Querying databases with SQL, working with APIs, and reasoning about systems is familiar territory. You can speak the same language as our engineering team and ask thoughtful questions to help yourself understand our environment.

We're hiring a strategic deals person to own high-value relationship development and deal execution across Column's credit partnerships. You'll drive the full commercial cycle — from identifying and qualifying strategic accounts to structuring and closing agreements with companies building financial products on Column's API infrastructure. At Column, we’re looking for a senior lawyer excited to own strategic partnerships end to end, from the first \"we want to build with Column\" conversation through signing, product development, launch, and ongoing expansion. Instead of handing the work off to a relationship manager or a separate product team, you're the through-line. You will architect novel partnership structures that enable fintechs to deliver modern banking experiences, navigating complex regulatory requirements along the way. You'll work closely with Go-to-Market, Engineering, Finance, Risk and Compliance and have a direct impact on how bespoke financial products are built and delivered at scale. Column’s product suite spans accounts, payments, cards, lending, and loan participations, delivered via both domestic and international fintechs to consumers and businesses.
This role offers direct access to leadership, will involve daily ongoing work with our external partners, and requires creativity and speed. The Column Legal team does not have Product, Regulatory, and Commercial silos – we believe the most effective lawyers are those who can own partnership launches and expansion end-to-end. This role reports directly to the Bank’s General Counsel.
Structure Bank-Fintech Partnerships: Lead the legal work to structure and launch partnerships across both payments and credit. Advise on line of credit products, bank accounts, consumer and commercial loan origination, multi-currency wallets, domestic and international card issuance, EWA and BNPL products, complex global money movement products, and more. Draft and review key customer-facing terms and marketing materials, structure onboarding flows and applications, determine BSA/AML requirements, conduct regulatory analyses, and own every legal detail of rolling out a new Column-backed product. Work closely with engineering to design a flow-of-funds model and reflect that product structure in legal documentation.
Own complex agreements end-to-end: Structure, draft, and negotiate complex customer and third-party partnership agreements covering a broad range of banking products and services.
Drive Product Strategy & Innovation: Be the strategic legal voice enabling product innovation. Partner closely with business teams and fintech partners from ideation through launch, anticipating challenges and architecting creative solutions that balance business needs with regulatory requirements. Advise on product structuring, and the legal implications of new lending and payments features and partnership models.
Own Regulatory Architecture: Build and evolve regulatory frameworks for existing and new products. The opportunity
Column's Growth team is focused on managing our highly strategic customer relationships. As a member of the Growth team, you'll be responsible for building and overseeing all aspects of our customer management while acting as a trusted partner, advisor and advocate for a wide variety of customers. Column’s Correspondent Banking (CB) Compliance role will support the delivery of Column’s correspondent banking strategy as we expand into new geographies and onboard new banks. In this position, you will be responsible for implementing Column’s framework for onboarding correspondent banking relationships in a highly hands-on and execution-focused capacity.
This is a builder role for someone who thrives in operations-heavy environments, enjoys owning work end-to-end, and is comfortable with a scope that will continue to evolve as the business grows. You will have a critical impact in evaluating country-level risk, translating those risks into practical diligence requirements, designing rules to target geography and bank specific risks, and performing deep, end-to-end due diligence on correspondent bank partners globally.
While an in-person presence in the Bank’s Presidio-based office is strongly preferred, this role is open to remote applicants with the expectation of frequent travel.

Partner with other Compliance and Risk stakeholders to refine and execute ongoing monitoring expectations for correspondent banking relationships, including periodic reviews, trigger events, and escalation criteria
Support business development conversations:
Be a partner to our Go-to-Market (GTM) team as they build relationships and sell to prospective banks.
Help our GTM evaluate good target customers.
Educate prospective customers on what it’s like to work with Column and our risk and compliance teams.
Support new product build out:
Work closely with GTM and Business teams to coordinate product rollouts and navigate regional risks.
Provide clear guardrails and discovery guidance to streamline customer engagement.
Create and deliver customer-facing documentation, ensuring clarity and compliance (e.g., requirements for bank customers).
What you’ll need to be successful
6-8+ years of regulatory, compliance or risk management experience with a focus on international financial activity. Previous correspondent banking experience is ideal but not required.
Ability to build and operational policies, procedures, and workflows
Strong familiarity with underwriting geographic and political risks
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to create detailed, clear documentation for a diverse range of stakeholders
Ability to jump into new situations and quickly solve problems, with an eye towards architecting solutions that will scale
Hyper-organized approach to project management, including coordinating efforts across multiple teams; comfort juggling multiple projects and priorities is critical
Scrappy, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude - we thrive because we work harder, are more creative, and have zero ego when it comes to getting our hands dirty to build a business
Ability to travel frequently
If you are not located in San Francisco we expect a monthly trip in the first six months and five times a year going forward.
