WarpStream is an Apache Kafka compatible data streaming platform built directly on top of object storage with zero local disks. It’s delivered to customers as a BYOC-style offering. The WarpStream team is responsible for this product offering from top to bottom, and as a Senior Engineer you’ll do everything from working on the storage engine running in the Agents, improving the scalability of our multi-tenant control plane, implementing new features like transactions, active-active multi-regions clusters, and even write some HTML/Javascript for our developer console. When incidents happen in a multi-cloud streaming platform, they happen at scale—data in motion, exactly-once semantics, and cascading failure modes that require deep systems thinking. We need an expert-level engineer who can drive proactive reliability improvements that prevent these incidents before they occur.
This role combines hands-on technical work with strategic program ownership. You'll spend roughly 75% of your time on engineering: building automation, improving tooling, analyzing systemic failure patterns, and designing reliability improvements. Partner closely with your engineering manager counterpart as a strategic partner. Use that partnership to understand tradeoffs, make decisions fast, and keep the product moving forward.

5+ years of experience as a Product Manager with focus on cloud technologies.
Experience building and supporting enterprise-grade products as a product manager, engineer or solutions architect.
Experience building, writing, maintaining and defending a clear product roadmap and backlog backed by user stories and customer research.
Excellent analytical, communication & collaboration skills.
Ability to build relationships with co-workers and customers located around the world.
Demonstrated ability to drive business outcomes through product changes.
6+ years of experience in Networking in a PM or technical role
Experience with enabling AWS/Azure/GCP private networking features such as Private Link, VPC Peering, Transit Gateway, etc for a SaaS product.
Experience with Envoy, Service Mesh, DNS and Kubernetes Networking.
Experience with network traffic metering and billing.
Domain expertise in networking technologies combined with Product Management experience. An MBA degree is a plus.

Hands-on experience with distributed systems, such as event-driven architectures, high-throughput services, or large-scale data pipelines. A strong understanding of consistency, fault tolerance, and performance tradeoffs.
Strong experience running production services in a public cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including containerized workloads (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Expertise in cloud-native technology, including networking & security, and experience being part of an on-call rotation.
Proven experience in leading and mentoring technical teams.
A track record of technical leadership: driving projects, influencing architecture, and coordinating work across multiple engineers or teams.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of experience in product management or related technical roles.
5+ years of experience taking technical infrastructure or data products from conception to launch.
Deep familiarity with real-time analytics, database internals, or streaming data platform architecture, either through product management or hands-on engineering.
Experience defining and launching products in the data infrastructure, analytics database, or stream processing space.
Strong technical judgment, comfortable navigating tradeoffs in distributed systems, storage engines, query performance, and cost optimization.
Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives with executive-level visibility and communicating technical strategy to senior leadership.
Engineering background in analytical databases, stream processing, or distributed storage systems.

Confluent's Cloud Networking team is responsible for making connectivity to and from Confluent Cloud reliable, scalable, secure, cost-efficient, and simple to use — across Kafka, Flink, Connectors, Data Governance, and Tableflow, on AWS, Azure, and GCP.
As Staff PM for Cloud Networking, you will own the platform strategy for how enterprises connect to Confluent Cloud. This is not a feature-level role — you will define the architecture of our networking product surface across all clouds and connection models, set the multi-year roadmap, and operate as a co-decision-maker alongside engineering leadership on the technical direction of the platform. You will work across all networking connection types — PrivateLink, VNet peering, Transit Gateway, Private Service Connect, and egress optimization — and drive alignment across engineering, field, and executive stakeholders on what we build and why.
Own the platform strategy for Confluent Cloud Networking across AWS, Azure, and GCP — defining the north star, multi-year roadmap, and sequencing of bets that balance customer connectivity needs, cost efficiency, security posture, and engineering leverage
Define frameworks and standards that other PMs, designers, and engineers use to evaluate networking decisions — connection model selection criteria, cost attribution models, security control frameworks, and launch readiness standards
Drive architectural decisions in partnership with engineering leadership — weighing trade-offs between user experience, cost, and operational complexity
Expand scope and create optionality — identify adjacencies the team should move into (network observability, cost transparency tooling, next-generation isolation models) and build the business case for them

This Principal Product Manager role is a high-leverage Individual Contributor position responsible for the complete product strategy and execution for Apache Flink across Confluent Cloud and Platform. Through the Tableflow project, we are building the next generation of storage solutions for Kora, transforming it into a true multi-modal storage engine. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Security Risk & Compliance Program Manager - Access Management to join our Trust & Security team. This senior role owns Confluent's internal access management program and leads its evolution toward machine and workload identity — service-to-service (S2S) authentication, non-human identity (NHI), and access controls for AI agents — as the next frontier of least-privilege security for the Confluent Cloud platform.
You will be the horizontal owner of how Confluent governs access: the Access Management Standard, access metrics, and the executive reporting cadence. As access operations are distributed across partner functions, you will hold the policy, risk, and measurement line so Confluent maintains one coherent access posture rather than fragmented silos.
Strategy and Leadership: Own the strategic direction and roadmap for Confluent's internal access management program, with machine and workload identity as the durable center of gravity. Drive the program's maturity model from control-building toward sustained governance and least-privilege outcomes.
Machine & Workload Identity: Lead the program to enforce service-to-service (S2S) authentication across Trust & Security-owned surfaces, taking ownership of the enforcement hand-off from the identity engineering team. Formalize non-human identity (NHI) — service accounts, keys, and workload credentials — from pilot into a funded, governed program. Stand up access controls for AI agents as agentic workloads acquire production access.
Access Governance & Standards: Own the Access Management Standard and the policies that operationalize least privilege, separation of duties, and periodic access review across human and machine access. Ensure the standard keeps pace with the evolving access surface and remains audit-ready.
Metrics, Reporting & Governance Cadence: Own access metrics and reporting (e.g., JIT/unilateral-access volume, broad-privilege usage, prod-access reduction). Define and track program OKRs and run the monthly execution and executive-review cadence, articulating risk posture and progress to senior leadership.
Cross-Functional Execution & Transitions: Drive cross-functional delivery with engineering, platform, and identity teams without direct authority.
Integration with GRC and Partner Functions: Ensure the access management program is tightly integrated with adjacent GRC domains and partner teams (Insider Threat, IT/Identity, Detection & Response, and engineering owners), with clear RACI across governance and operations.
Experience: 8+ years in security program management, identity & access management, or a closely related security discipline, with at least 3 years running an enterprise- or platform-scale access program in a technology company.
Technical Skills:
Deep expertise in identity and access management concepts: least privilege, separation of duties, RBAC/ABAC, just-in-time (JIT) and privileged access management (PAM), and access review/certification.
Working knowledge of machine and workload identity — service-to-service authentication, non-human identity, service accounts, secrets/key management, and emerging AI-agent access patterns.
Strong security engineering fundamentals across cloud infrastructure security controls in GCP, AWS, and/or Azure, including Kubernetes and cloud control-plane access models.
Familiarity with identity platforms and access tooling (e.g., Okta, JIT/access-orchestration tooling) and how access controls are enforced in production.
Tooling and Automation: Experience integrating access processes, controls, or findings into GRC and access-orchestration platforms, and a bias toward automating access decisions over manual operations.
Program Management Skills:
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Deep technical domain expertise across detection engineering, incident response, and threat intelligence. Experience building or operating scalable data/event pipelines, modern telemetry stacks, or stream-processing architectures.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex, high-severity security incidents with composure, clarity, and cross-functional leadership.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to translate complex security risks into clear strategic priorities for engineering leadership.
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

As a Principal Engineer, you will be a key technical leader shaping the long-term architecture, scalability, and reliability of Confluent's schema and metadata governance systems, and their integration across the broader Confluent Streaming Platform. You will focus on advancing the core layers of Stream Governance, including highly available, multi-tenant infrastructure and the systems responsible for schema management, data policy enforcement, and metadata consistency at scale.
You will own company-level technical domains, set direction for critical initiatives, and influence both engineering practices and product strategy. This role requires operating with autonomy in highly ambiguous spaces, making decisions that balance technical depth with business impact to ensure reliability and scalability for governance services across all of Confluent Cloud and Confluent Platform.
- Technical Strategy & Leadership: Define and drive company-level technical strategy for critical governance systems, ensuring long-term innovation for schema and metadata infrastructure.
- Metadata Architecture & Lifecycle Management: Architect and evolve high-performance metadata management systems that support low-latency lookups, strong consistency guarantees, and coherent behavior across streaming and processing engines.
