You will be building the next cloud platform for running AI software - a cloud where AI apps are building other software apps.
Your job will be:
Building a distributed system for millions and billions of AI agents running on E2B
Building an orchestrator for placing sandboxes in the right nodes
Adding support for sandbox live migrations
Making sure our self-hosting DX is as smooth as possible (we’re open-source)
Not letting our sandboxes take more than 200ms to start (starting with the user hitting enter)
Scaling to millions and later billions of sandboxes running at the same time
Building an observability stack starting at the kernel level of virtual machines
We’re looking for an infrastructure engineer passionate about making things run fast and efficiently, and running A LOT of them at the same time.
If you aren’t afraid of going into the kernel of a VM and words like Firecracker, eBPF, UFFD, block device, L4 load balancing, noisy neighbor problem, or hugepages sound exciting to you, we want to hear from you!
5+ years building distributed systems - You've operated infrastructure at serious scale (100K+ RPS, multi-region, PB-scale data) and understand the trade-offs between consistency, availability, and partition tolerance in practice, not just theory
Deep Linux internals expertise - You're comfortable working at the kernel level. You've debugged performance issues using eBPF, understand CPU scheduling, memory management, and can explain the difference between cgroups v1 and v2 without looking it up
VM hypervisor experience - You've worked with Firecracker, QEMU, KVM, or similar. You understand virtio, know what a hypercall is, and have opinions about nested virtualization trade-offs
Systems programming skills - Strong in at least one of: Go, Rust, C/C++. You've written performance-critical code and know when to reach for lock-free data structures, memory-mapped files, or io_uring
Production orchestration experience - You've built or operated orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Nomad, or custom). You understand bin-packing algorithms, resource scheduling, and have dealt with noisy neighbor problems at scale
Performance obsession - You've shaved milliseconds off hot paths, understand CPU caches and memory locality, and have profiled production systems under load. You know what \"p99 latency\" means and care deeply about making it better

As a Technical Recruiter at E2B, you’ll build the team that will define the future of the company. This is a early role where you’ll help shape our hiring philosophy, recruiting processes, and talent brand as we scale.
You’ll partner directly with the Head of Talent and leadership team to identify hiring needs, source, and close exceptional candidates. You’ll help establish E2B as a destination for top engineers, builders, and operators in the developer and AI ecosystem, while ensuring every hire raises the bar.
From designing interview processes to closing senior candidates, you’ll play a critical role in assembling a world-class team capable of executing E2B’s ambitious vision.
Experience:
At least 5+ years in recruiting or talent acquisition, ideally in high-growth startups or DevTool / AI companies. Experience hiring technical talent (especially engineers) is essential.
Startup mindset:
Comfortable operating in early-stage environments where speed, autonomy, and ownership matter. You enjoy building processes where none exist and iterating quickly.
Technical recruiting expertise:
Proven ability to source and close strong engineering candidates in competitive markets. You understand developer profiles, technical hiring signals, and how to engage top technical talent.
End-to-end ownership:
You can run the full recruiting lifecycle, from sourcing strategy and outreach to interview design, candidate experience, and closing.
Talent strategy:
Ability to partner with founders and leaders to define hiring plans, role scorecards, and structured hiring processes.
Relationship building:

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is our second support hire. Customers using E2B in production, from individual developers to frontier AI labs to enterprise banks, file tickets when something breaks. We need someone who can own the front line and become the technical bridge between customers and the engineering team.
You'll spend most of your time inside the product: reproducing what customers report, reading sandbox logs, running the SDK against live edge cases, and figuring out what's actually wrong before anything reaches an engineer. The customers writing to us are technical, so the answer is rarely \"have you tried turning it off and on.\" It's usually \"your egress is being blocked by your VPC routing\" or \"the sandbox template has a stale base image.\"
You'll also own our public docs. Every recurring question becomes a documentation gap, and you'll close it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Triage incoming customer issues across our Dashboard, email, Slack Connect, and Discord. Be the first technical responder during US hours.
- Reproduce reported bugs against the E2B SDK and sandbox runtime. Capture the failing input, isolate the variable that breaks, and document repro steps before escalating.
- Read logs and traces. Pull sandbox logs, parse SDK telemetry, and correlate with platform metrics to figure out where in the stack a problem actually lives.
- Write fixes for documentation, examples, and SDK error messages. When a customer hits a confusing failure mode, the doc gets clearer the same week.
- Own the docs site. Keep our documentation accurate as the product evolves. Land changes alongside engineering releases, not weeks after.
- Escalate cleanly. When an issue is genuinely product, hand off to engineering with a complete repro, suspected root cause, and customer impact summary. No throw-it-over-the-wall tickets.
- Catch patterns. If three customers hit the same edge case in a week, that's a product signal. Surface it in the engineering and product channels with data and evidence.
- Build internal tooling for support. Scripts, dashboards, runbooks. If something is repeatable, automate it.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 2+ years in a technical support, customer engineering, or developer support role at a cloud, PaaS, or DevTools company.
- Strong Linux fluency. You're comfortable on a shell, can read systemd logs, follow tcpdump output, and reason about networking (DNS, routing, firewalls, proxies) without Googling every command.
- Comfortable in Python and TypeScript. You don't need to be shipping production features, but you should be able to read the SDKs, write a 50-line reproduction script, and patch a doc example.
- Strong written communication. Most customer interactions are async and text-only. You write tight, scannable, technically precise replies.
- Documentation instincts. You've owned or maintained public docs before, or you've left a clear paper trail in internal wikis or runbooks. You see undocumented behavior as a bug.
- Calm under pressure. Production incidents, angry enterprise customers, and ambiguous repros don't rattle you.
- Excited to work in person from San Francisco.
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Experience supporting an SDK or API product with usage-based pricing. The mechanics of metering, quotas, and rate limits come up constantly.
- Familiarity with virtualization or container isolation models. Knowing why \"my container can't see /dev/loop0\" is interesting helps a lot.
- Past contributions to open-source projects, especially in the developer-tools or AI agent ecosystem.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is the first business operations leadership hire at E2B. The company has scaled from $1M to 8-figure ARR in under a year, raised a Series A, and is now preparing for the next stage of growth.
You'll own everything that isn't engineering, GTM, or design. Finance ops until our Head of Finance lands. Legal admin and contracts. People ops and onboarding. Office logistics across San Francisco and Prague. Vendor management. The internal tools that make the company run.
This is a hands-on role for the first 6 to 12 months. You will personally run payroll, negotiate the office lease renewal, and fix the broken Notion. As the company grows, this becomes a COO-track role with a real team underneath you.
You'll partner directly with Vasek (CEO) and Tomas (Head of Engineering).
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build the operating cadence. Weekly leadership rituals, monthly board prep, quarterly planning. Today these happen ad-hoc. You make them repeatable.
- Run people ops end-to-end. Offers, onboarding, payroll across US and EU entities, benefits administration, equity grants, performance review process, offboarding. Partner with Talent on recruiting ops where the recruiting machine spills into HR (offers, references, background checks, work authorization).
- Own legal admin. Customer contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs, contractor MSAs for our EU hires. You won't be drafting from scratch, but you'll be the person turning around redlines, managing outside counsel, and keeping the contract tracker honest.
- Run office and team logistics. Two offices, two countries, two payroll regimes, occasional team offsites, equipment provisioning, real estate decisions. The boring infrastructure that lets engineers ship.
- Own vendor and tool sprawl. Every SaaS bill, every renewal, every \"do we still use this?\" question. Procurement, security review, cost optimization.
- Set up the bench. As scope grows past one person, you'll hire your replacements: an HR/people lead, a finance hire, eventually a head of legal. You'll define those roles and run those searches.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 6+ years in operations, with at least 2-3 years operating at a Series A or Series B startup that scaled headcount through 30 to 100. You've watched a company double in size and you know what breaks.
- Generalist DNA. You're comfortable owning finance one week, legal the next, and rewriting the offer letter template on a Friday night. You don't need a defined function to be effective.
- Strong with numbers. Comfortable in spreadsheets, can read a P&L, can model headcount and burn. You don't need a CPA, but you should not need to hand the model off to be useful.
- Real ownership track record. You've personally built or rebuilt at least two of: a payroll process, an offers / equity process, a contracts pipeline, a close cycle, a board reporting cadence, a vendor management process. Not \"managed a team that did\", but actually built.

What we're looking for
5+ years operating production cloud infrastructure - You've owned Terraform and at least one orchestrator (Kubernetes, Nomad, ECS) in production. You've built modules, managed state, debugged drift, and managed production incidents.
Hands-on Kubernetes at meaningful scale - You've operated Kubernetes clusters past the tutorial stage: real workloads, real traffic, real on-call. You can speak to ingress, RBAC, and autoscaling.
Strong Linux fundamentals - We're a low-level infrastructure product. You're comfortable deep in Linux: networking, namespaces and cgroups, systemd, filesystems, and debugging at the OS level. When a deployment breaks, the root cause is often below the orchestrator, and you can follow it there.
Comfortable working directly with customers - A chunk of BYOC is customer-facing: pre-sales technical discussions, deployment, and operational support for enterprise customers. You can hold a technical conversation with a customer and own the relationship through a rollout, not just hand off a config.
Multi-cloud comfort, with one cloud at expert depth - You've built and operated on Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure. Configured VPCs, managed IAM, set up private networking, debugged routing and DNS. Terraform as a first-class skill - You read other people's modules without flinching, write your own when needed, and have opinions about state, workspaces, and module boundaries.

You'll run the Platform team that ships reliable work fast, and you'll co-own the entire platform: cloud operations, Terraform automation, BYOC, and on-call. You'll lead both the people and the quality of what they deliver, so that E2B's core infrastructure is fast, secure, and reliable at any scale, customers trust us with their agents' execution, and product teams ship on top of the platform without thinking about it.
You'll need to be senior and self-sufficient enough to run the team and make calls independently. Independence isn't a nice-to-have here, it's the job. Your job will be to own and scale the backend that powers the E2B Dashboard and SDK — the APIs, data, and services developers rely on to run, monitor, and debug their sandboxes. You're the backend counterpart to our dashboard engineers: they own the experience, you own the services and data behind it, and together you ship product end-to-end.
This is product/application backend - APIs, data layer, auth, billing, usage metrics, real-time log/metric pipelines. It is not our low-level infrastructure (Firecracker, orchestration, the sandbox runtime) - that lives with our Core and Platform teams, who you'll integrate with but not duplicate.
The split is roughly 80% Go backend, 20% TypeScript — you live in Go, but you're comfortable dropping into the Next.js app to wire things up end-to-end and unblock the frontend rather than throwing work over a wall.
You'll build enterprise-grade services that scale to 100k+ weekly active users. Responsibilities include:
Owning the Go services behind the dashboard and SDK — APIs, data models, and the contracts the frontend builds on
Designing auth/authorization, billing, and usage-metering surfaces
Building the real-time backends (WebSockets, SSE) that feed sandbox logs and metrics to the dashboard
Optimizing data access and server-side performance — query design, caching, response times
Partnering closely with dashboard engineers to ship features end-to-end, and with Core/Platform on the boundaries where product meets infrastructure
Making architectural decisions around observability, testing, and security best practices

3-5+ years shipping production backend services, with deep expertise in Go
Strong API design — REST/RPC, contracts, versioning, and an eye for the interface the frontend actually needs
Solid with PostgreSQL: schema design, query optimization, migrations, and reasoning about data at scale
