GovWell is hiring Forward Deployed Software Engineers to sit inside our most complex enterprise deals — the ones where a county's 20-year-old permitting system, a workflow no vendor has handled before, or a migration off legacy systems is standing between a signed contract and a working deployment.
This role exists because our biggest municipalities don't fit a template. You'll go on-site, diagnose what's actually blocking the launch, build the targeted fix when one is needed, and then decide what part of that fix should become a permanent, reusable piece of the platform rather than a one-off. Get this right and you turn a complex deal into a referenceable customer. Get it wrong and you either miss the deal or bury the core product in bespoke debt.

A decade of permits, parcels, inspections, and license records — often living in a 2009 Access database, a folder of CSVs, or a legacy system with no documentation — has to land in GovWell accurately. If it doesn't, our relationship with a new client is off to a bumpy start.
As a Data Solutions Engineer, you own that moment. You'll take whatever a city hands you — messy exports, inconsistent codes, half-mapped schemas, geospatial data of questionable quality — and turn it into clean, trusted production data. That means writing SQL/Python that finds the edge cases before they find you, leading calls with non-technical government staff, and making judgment calls on messy data that you'd stake the launch on.
You'll report directly to Ben Cohen (Co-Founder & CTO) and work across Deployment, Product, and Engineering — with real influence over how GovWell's onboarding process matures as we scale.

Own data migrations end-to-end. Work directly with government staff to understand their source systems, configure schema mappings and ingestion settings, run validations and dry-runs, and ensure accurate, complete data lands in GovWell.
Be the gatekeeper for data quality. Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and edge cases in legacy data before they become production problems. Make documented judgment calls within defined constraints — and prevent bad or unsafe data from ever reaching production.
Be the technical face of onboarding. Lead customer calls, clearly explain data requirements and tradeoffs, and guide agency staff through the transition from legacy systems to GovWell with calm confidence.
Make the process better as you run it. Use internal tools, templates, and playbooks to reduce time-to-launch and minimize manual work. Help build toward a future where migrations are predictable, repeatable, and fast.
Close the feedback loop with Product and Engineering. Document recurring issues, unmet assumptions, and tooling gaps encountered during migrations — helping the platform evolve based on what you see in the field.
Required
2-4 years of hands-on experience in data migrations, ETL/ELT, technical implementations, or a closely related role working with messy, real-world production data.
Demonstrated ability to work directly in a Python codebase day-to-day (reading, debugging, and shipping changes via PRs) — ideally in a data/pipeline repo (e.g., Airflow DAGs, ingestion jobs, migration utilities).
Strong SQL proficiency used in practice for analysis, validation, reconciliation, and transformation work.
Experience translating ambiguous stakeholder requirements into concrete, testable migration/implementation plans (what we’re importing, what we’re not, and why).

GovWell is hiring a Senior Demand Generation Manager to own the campaigns and channels that turn our marketing efforts into pipeline. You’ll own how we reach our target buyers across paid search, paid social, direct mail, email, retargeting, and new channels as we scale.
You’ll work closely with the Head of Marketing and broader marketing team to build integrated campaigns, manage channel performance and budget, and continuously improve conversion. Because our market is highly knowable, you’ll have a unique opportunity to build a precise demand engine that reaches the right government buyers with the right message at the right time.
This role offers significant ownership over demand generation strategy and execution, with a clear mandate to grow marketing-sourced pipeline and make our acquisition engine more efficient as GovWell scales.

Own the demand generation calendar and orchestrate integrated campaigns across paid search, paid social, direct mail, email, and retargeting
Manage channel performance and economics, tracking conversion, cost per lead, cost per opportunity, and ROI to continuously improve how we allocate budget
Execute direct mail and email campaigns while managing performance marketing partners across Google, LinkedIn, and retargeting
Optimize landing pages, forms, copy, and other lead generation surfaces through continuous testing in partnership with our content and creative teams
Own lifecycle, nurture, and lead generation email strategy, including segmentation, messaging, automation, and the handoff of qualified leads to Sales
Test new acquisition channels and tactics, quickly identifying which experiments have enough signal to scale and which should be killed
1–3+ years in demand generation, growth marketing, performance marketing, or a related role, ideally in B2B SaaS with direct ownership of pipeline or lead targets
Revenue-minded and analytical, focused on generating qualified pipeline and improving channel economics rather than optimizing for vanity metrics
Hands-on operator who can move between campaign strategy and execution, from allocating budget to writing an email or improving a landing page
Experienced with paid acquisition, email and marketing automation, CRM workflows, landing pages, and A/B testing, either directly or through managing external partners
Highly organized and systems-oriented, able to orchestrate multiple channels, campaigns, and partners while using automation and AI to increase leverage
