With Athena, our agentic AI layer, Humaans moves beyond data management into intelligent orchestration, connecting workflows across HR, IT, Finance, and Operations so organisations can act faster and with greater confidence, redefining how work gets done.\n\nWe work with ambitious teams across Europe and the US, from AI-native companies like Lovable, Poolside, Fyxer AI, and Tandem Health, to established, high-growth organisations scaling internationally and through acquisition, including Quantexa, Sellpy, Manychat, Gigs, Croud, and Threecolts. These teams don’t buy software for features, they buy leverage. The ability to run faster, cleaner, and with more control as complexity compounds.\n\nTo date, we’ve raised $20m in venture funding from some of the most respected founders, operators, and funds in technology: Lachy Groom (Physical Intelligence), Stewart Butterfield (Slack), Tobias Lütke (Shopify), Dylan Field (Figma), Jeff Weiner (LinkedIn), Claire Johnson (Stripe), Oliver Jay (OpenAI), Jay Simmons (Bond) as well as Y Combinator, Moonfire, Frontline Ventures, Pathlight Ventures, and Exor.\n\nIf you have massive ambition and want to work on a hard problem, with a small team that moves fast, at a moment when the category is genuinely up for grabs - this is it.\n\n\nTHE ROLE\n\nWe’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us build and evolve Humaans as we continue to scale.\n\nWe obsess over the details and quality of our user-facing experiences and the engineering behind them. At the same time, we move fast by creating focus, making pragmatic decisions and investing in high-quality foundations that allow us to keep moving quickly as the product grows.\n\nThis is an end-to-end engineering role. You’ll work across the stack, from shaping what we build with Product and Design through to implementation, release and iteration. On any given day you might be building a new customer-facing feature, improving our infrastructure, expanding an integration or helping solve a problem for a customer.\n\nYou’ll have meaningful ownership over both the product and the technical decisions behind it, with the opportunity to contribute to how our architecture evolves as Humaans grows.\n\n\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\n\n - Help shape product features from early definition through to implementation, release and iteration\n\n - Build end-to-end customer-facing features across our frontend and backend\n\n - Write backend TypeScript across Node, Postgres, Redis and Kubernetes\n\n - Build frontend experiences using TypeScript and React\n\n - Fix bugs, improve infrastructure and strengthen the foundations that allow us to move quickly without compromising quality\n\n - Expand our third-party integration marketplace and build reliable connections between Humaans and the wider HR technology ecosystem\n\n - Contribute to technical architecture decisions and help us make thoughtful trade-offs as the product scales\n\n - Work closely with Product and Design to turn ideas and customer problems into high-quality experiences\n\n - Support customers when technical problems require engineering input, getting close to the problems people experience in the real world\n\n - Partner with Sales and Marketing when engineering context can help us communicate, demonstrate or deliver the value of Humaans\n\n\nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR\n\n - Multiple years of industry experience building full-stack web applications, ideally within SaaS\n\n - Strong TypeScript knowledge and a genuine appreciation for the language\n\n - Experience working across both backend and frontend systems and taking features from idea through to production\n\n - Strong product instincts and an appreciation for design, usability and digital product craftsmanship\n\n - Experience collaborating directly with Product and Design rather than working from requirements in isolation\n\n - A proven track record of shipping work that creates meaningful value for customers or users\n\n - The ability to balance speed with quality, knowing when to move quickly and when investing in stronger foundations will pay off\n\n - Strong engineering judgement and an interest in contributing to technical architecture as the product evolves\n\n - A high degree of ownership and comfort working across whatever part of the product or stack is needed to solve the problem\n\n\nYOU MAY NOT BE A GREAT FIT IF\n\n - You prefer specialising exclusively in frontend, backend or infrastructure rather than working across the stack\n\n - You want to receive fully specified requirements rather than helping shape what gets built and how\n\n - You’re more interested in technical complexity than the quality and usefulness of the product customers ultimately experience\n\n - You prefer engineering to happen separately from Product and Design rather than collaborating closely throughout the process\n\n - You’re uncomfortable moving between product features, bugs, infrastructure, integrations and customer problems as priorities change\n\n - You optimise exclusively for speed or technical perfection rather than making pragmatic decisions that balance both\n\n - You prefer staying removed from customers, Sales and other parts of the business rather than helping where engineering context can make a difference\n\n\nOUR TECH STACK\n\nOur tech stack today consists of TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Node, Postgres and Redis. We use GitHub for code and continuous integration to deploy to Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform. We have a public REST API and our browser client uses a realtime WebSocket API.\n\nThis is an in-person role. Our team comes together in the office Monday through Thursday, while most of the team collaborates in person on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.\n\n\nPACKAGE & BENEFITS\n\nEarly stage startups can be messy – we know that. We're putting effort in providing you with the best employee experience and a quality driven environment in exchange for trusting us.\n\n - Market-leading compensation that reflects your value\n\n - 25 days paid time off each year plus public holidays\n\n - Share Options with 5-year exercise window so you don’t feel pressure to exercise if you leave\n\n - Quarterly team events, and company offsites\n\n - Top tier private coverage for health, vision and dental care\n\n - A new MacBook and tools you need to do your best work\n\n - Enhanced parental leave with up to 16 weeks for primary and 4 weeks for secondary\n\n - Learning & development budget\n\n\nWHY JOIN HUMAANS TODAY?\n\nHR tech is having its AI moment and we’re positioned to own it. Humaans started as a next-gen HRIS taking on large incumbents in a massive market. We’ve since evolved into something even bigger: an AI platform that sits across workforce data and automates the operational layer of HR entirely; the natural progression of what we’ve been building toward.\n\nThe product is highly differentiated. It’s built around a structured workforce data model that makes AI reliable in an HR context, something no one else has gotten right. Customers notice the difference immediately.\n\nWe’re backed by Y Combinator, Lachy Groom, Moonfire, Frontline Ventures, and operators who’ve built some of the most consequential software companies of the last decade: the founders of Slack, Figma, and Shopify, and Asana’s former CRO and Head of OpenAI International.\n\nWe’re a small team with an unapologetically high bar. It shows up in the product, in how we communicate, and in the standards we hold each other to.\n\n\nOUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY\n\nAt Humaans we’re looking for genuinely good people that are transparent and emphatic. We’re committed to providing equal opportunities, a diverse and inclusive work environment, and ensuring a fair interview process for everyone. You’re welcome to apply no matter your gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, civil or family status, age, disability, or race.\n\n\nPRIVACY NOTICE\n\nWe care about your privacy. You’ll be responsible for turning a group of ambitious sales associates into a precision pipeline machine, setting the standard, building the playbook and coaching the team to consistently hit and exceed targets.</p><p style=\"min-height:1.5em\">AI is central to how we expect the team to operate. Better research, sharper sequences, smarter prioritisation and faster learning should give us an advantage over teams relying on traditional outbound alone. You’ll stay close to the work through call reviews, sequence development, coaching and live deal support, while holding a high bar for quality and creating the conditions for people to develop quickly. The ability to run faster, cleaner, and with more control as complexity compounds.\n\nTo date, we’ve raised $20m in venture funding from some of the most respected founders, operators, and funds in technology: Lachy Groom (Physical Intelligence), Stewart Butterfield (Slack), Tobias Lütke (Shopify), Dylan Field (Figma), Jeff Weiner (LinkedIn), Claire Johnson (Stripe), Oliver Jay (OpenAI), Jay Simmons (Bond) as well as Y Combinator, Moonfire, Frontline Ventures, Pathlight Ventures, and Exor.\n\nIf you have massive ambition and want to work on a hard problem, with a small team that moves fast, at a moment when the category is genuinely up for grabs - this is it.\n\n\nTHE ROLE\n\nOur Sales team is looking for a high-calibre Sales Development Team Leader to own and develop our outbound function. You’ll be responsible for turning a group of ambitious sales associates into a precision pipeline machine, setting the standard, building the playbook and coaching the team to consistently hit and exceed targets.\n\nAI is central to how we expect the team to operate. Better research, sharper sequences, smarter prioritisation and faster learning should give us an advantage over teams relying on traditional outbound alone. You’ll need to know how to use AI effectively yourself and, importantly, how to embed it into the way your team works every day.\n\nThis is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll stay close to the work through call reviews, sequence development, coaching and live deal support, while holding a high bar for quality and creating the conditions for people to develop quickly. You’ll report to our Head of RevOps and work closely with the AE team to ensure the opportunities we create are high quality and convert.\n\nHumaans is at a stage where the decisions you make now can shape how we operate for years. You’ll have the opportunity to build an AI-native sales development function from the ground up, defining what great outbound looks like, how the team operates and how it scales with the business.\n\n\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\n\n - Own the outbound sales development function end to end, including team performance, pipeline contribution, process and development\n\n - Set and continuously improve our outbound strategy, refining the playbook, sharpening ICP targeting and finding better ways to create high-quality pipeline\n\n - Use AI-assisted tooling to improve research, personalisation, sequencing and prioritisation, helping the team adapt and learn faster\n\n - Coach and develop the team through structured 1:1s, call reviews, live deal support and regular feedback\n\n - Set a high bar for outbound quality and build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance\n\n - Work closely with AEs and Revenue Operations to maintain strong pipeline quality, healthy conversion rates and a seamless handoff process\n\n - Use data and AI-powered analytics to understand performance, identify patterns and act quickly when something isn’t working\n\n - Track the metrics that matter across activity, pipeline contribution and conversion, connecting individual and team performance to revenue outcomes\n\n - Recruit, onboard and ramp new sales associates as the team grows\n\n - Build the processes, standards and foundations that allow the outbound function to scale with the business\n\n\nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR\n\n - 5+ years of experience in outbound sales, including at least 2 years managing or leading a BDR or SDR team within B2B SaaS\n\n - A consistent track record of building pipeline and coaching others to do the same. You know what good outbound looks like and can teach it\n\n - A coaching-first approach to leadership. You measure your success by what your team achieves and how quickly people develop\n\n - Deep familiarity with modern outbound tooling and sequencing platforms, ideally including tools such as Clay, Claude Code, Lemlist, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Prospeo\n\n - Hands-on experience using AI to improve an outbound workflow, with a clear understanding of what changed in quality, speed or conversion as a result\n\n - Strong analytical instincts and the ability to use data to diagnose underperformance, identify opportunities and make informed changes\n\n - Strong understanding of ICP development, targeting, sequencing, qualification and the mechanics behind a healthy outbound funnel\n\n - Experience working in a high-growth, VC-backed environment where priorities move quickly and the playbook is still being written\n\n - A clear, direct communication style and the ability to influence effectively across Sales, Revenue Operations and leadership\n\n - High standards for both performance and quality, with the willingness to stay close enough to the work to maintain them\n\n\nYOU MAY NOT BE A GREAT FIT IF\n\n - You want to move away from the day-to-day reality of outbound into a primarily strategic management role. This is a hands-on leadership position\n\n - You measure success primarily through activity volume rather than pipeline quality, conversion and revenue impact\n\n - You prefer giving your team targets and leaving them to figure out how to hit them rather than actively coaching, reviewing and developing their skills\n\n - You see AI as an optional productivity tool rather than something that should fundamentally improve how a modern outbound team operates\n\n - You rely on an established playbook and aren’t excited by the prospect of continuously testing, refining and building a better one\n\n - You’re uncomfortable using data to identify underperformance and having direct conversations about what needs to improve\n\n - You measure your impact primarily through your own individual contribution rather than the performance and development of the team\n\n - You prefer clear boundaries between Sales, AEs and Revenue Operations rather than working closely across them to improve the entire pipeline\n\nThis is an in-person role. Alongside delivering excellent implementations, you’ll improve how the work itself gets done, using AI to increase accuracy, reduce manual effort and shorten time to value for every customer that follows.\n\n\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\n\n - Own implementation projects from initial scoping through to launch, establishing clear requirements, timelines and responsibilities across the HRIS and Athena platforms.\n\n - Lead complex data migrations for global organisations, using AI-assisted tooling to accelerate data preparation, identify anomalies and validate accuracy at scale.\n\n - Configure Humaans around each customer’s organisational structure, workflows and policies, ensuring the platform reflects how they operate.\n\n - Act as a trusted adviser, guiding customers through implementation best practices and helping them achieve their operational transformation goals.\n\n - Manage stakeholders across HR, IT, Finance and Operations, maintaining alignment, resolving blockers and keeping multiple projects on track.\n\n - Guide customers through integrations, APIs and webhooks so they can take advantage of the platform’s technical capabilities.\n\n - Establish a seamless handover to Customer Success, ensuring the team has the context and foundations required to build a successful long-term relationship.\n\n - Improve our implementation approach by introducing AI-enabled workflows, refining playbooks and sharing recurring patterns, friction points and product feedback with Product and Engineering.\n\n\nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR\n\n - Evidence of owning SaaS implementation or onboarding projects involving complex data, ideally for enterprise or global customers.\n\n - A strong record of delivering projects on time and within scope while managing multiple workstreams and stakeholders.\n\n - Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when handling data migration, validation and product configuration.\n\n - Practical experience using AI to materially improve implementation work, with clear examples of what changed and the impact it delivered.\n\n - Confidence working with integrations, APIs and webhooks, with the ability to explain technical requirements clearly to customers.\n\n - Strong working knowledge of Google Sheets or Excel and the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.\n\n - Clear, credible communication and the judgement to manage expectations, resolve difficult situations and build trust with senior stakeholders.\n\n - Comfort operating in an environment where processes are still developing and you are expected to improve them through hands-on experience.\n\n\nYOU MAY NOT BE A GREAT FIT IF\n\n - You prefer to inherit a fully established implementation process \n\n - You are uncomfortable taking personal responsibility for project timelines, data accuracy and the quality of a customer’s launch.\n\n - You rely on customers or internal teams to drive progress when projects become complex or unclear.\n\n - You prefer to avoid technical conversations involving data, integrations, APIs or webhooks.\n\n - You have not yet incorporated AI meaningfully into your work.\n\n - You are uncomfortable managing several projects and stakeholder groups at the same time.\n\nThis is an in-person role.
