About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished Synthetic Chemist to help build the experimental chemistry capabilities behind Inductive's AI-forward drug discovery platform. This role combines medicinal chemistry strategy with hands-on synthesis expertise to design better compounds, solve challenging synthetic problems, and accelerate Design-Make-Test-Analyze workflows.
You'll play a key role in bridging computational design and experimental chemistry, bringing practical synthesis expertise to both the lab and the digital tools we're building.
This is an onsite role based in Boston, with regular visits to our local lab, reporting directly to our VP, Head of Medicinal Chemistry.
What You'll Do
Apply your synthetic chemistry expertise to design, optimize, and troubleshoot synthetic routes across a diverse range of medicinal chemistry programs.
Translate your practical knowledge into digital workflows that optimize synthetic routes, identify reaction conditions, streamline CRO communication, and track compound progress.
Oversee synthesis activities with CRO partners, leveraging both your chemistry expertise and Inductive's technology to deliver high-quality compounds efficiently.
Train and mentor laboratory technicians, ensuring reactions are executed safely, effectively, and reproducibly.
Develop strategic approaches to compound and intermediate supply, including route optimization and scale-up to support ongoing medicinal chemistry exploration.

What We're Looking For
A passion for advancing medicinal chemistry programs through practical, hands-on synthetic chemistry.
Deep knowledge of modern synthetic methods, with a strong understanding of what works in practice at the bench.
A track record of solving complex synthetic challenges across diverse chemotypes, reaction types, and scales.
Experience mentoring junior chemists or technicians and sharing practical laboratory expertise.

We are seeking a Member of Technical Staff, Machine Learning to join our talented, ambitious, and kind team. You’ll innovate on ML methods, work closely with leading drug discovery scientists, and see your work applied directly to real drug programs. You’ll have significant ownership, impact, and opportunity to grow with the company.
What you’ll do:
Develop machine learning models to predict molecular properties from chemical structures
Develop novel algorithms for generate and prioritize molecules for synthesis
Build agents that can analyze complex information from drug programs and apply that information strategically toward molecular optimization
Get your hands dirty by diving deep into our unique, proprietary dataset to iterate on modeling ideas and improve model performance
Collaborate closely with chemists and software engineers to integrate models into our software platform, which is used by drug discovery scientists across the industry
Build and optimize scalable infrastructure for model training, deployment, and monitoring
Engage directly with our scientific users, incorporating their feedback into the product
Contribute meaningfully to product strategy and company direction
Who you are:
You have 4+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or similar role
You have a strong scientific background, ideally with a PhD in chemistry, biology, physics, or a related field
You have expertise in machine learning fundamentals, deep learning architectures, and evaluation approaches
You are proficient in standard Python-based ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow)
You are comfortable writing high-quality, reusable code and productionizing models for serving in the cloud
You are excited to dive deep into the science and practice of drug discovery
You have exceptional written and oral communication skills
Preferred experience:
You have graduate-level knowledge of cell / molecular biology or biochemistry, and experience collaborating with wet lab scientists
Experience with omics modeling (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, etc)
Experience with high-content screening and signal processing from microscopy data

As adoption of our products and services grows, we are looking for a Enterprise Lead to deepen our work with large pharma by shaping and scaling offerings around their most important needs. You will work directly with pharma leaders and scientists, alongside our internal teams, to uncover opportunities, develop and test new offerings, and rapidly iterate based on customer feedback. You will then help build the commercial strategy to bring those offerings to market at scale.

What you’ll do
Build a deep understanding of the workflows, priorities, and needs of large pharma discovery organizations
Lead conversations with scientific and business stakeholders to uncover the underlying problems behind customer feedback and requests
Work closely with our internal teams to translate those insights into new product capabilities, services, and commercial offerings
Develop hypotheses about the strongest entry points for Inductive within large pharma, test them in the market, and rapidly adjust based on what you learn
Identify target accounts and stakeholders, build relationships, and create opportunities through thoughtful outbound outreach, industry events, and your network
Shape compelling pitches, pilots, pricing, and business cases that connect scientific impact to measurable organizational value

Who you are
You have 3+ years of experience in life sciences consulting, strategy, business development, or another highly customer-facing role
You have a strong scientific foundation. An advanced degree is strongly preferred, but not required
You understand drug discovery and can engage credibly with scientific stakeholders
You are skilled at turning ambiguous customer input into a clear problem, a testable hypothesis, and a practical next step
You are comfortable forming a point of view, testing it quickly, and changing course when the evidence calls for it
