About The Role
As a Senior GRC Lead at Jasper, you will own our Governance, Risk, and Compliance program end-to-end—building a program that scales with our AI-native products. What you will bring to Jasper
AI fluency — a working understanding of core AI concepts (LLMs, agents, copilots, tokens, credits, context windows, RAG, data governance, etc.), applied in the context of governance, risk, and compliance for AI-native products.
8+ years of experience in Governance, Risk & Compliance, ideally at a SaaS company.
Deep expertise across multiple compliance and security frameworks, including SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and at least one regulatory framework (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, or equivalent).
Expertise in modern cloud-native web application development practices and related security best practices, especially in the context of GCP and frontier AI platforms.
Experience with GRC tooling (e.g., Vanta, Drata, OneTrust, or similar).
Experience managing a risk register and vendor risk program.
Strong cross-functional communication — comfortable working with Security, Legal, Product, and Engineering, and able to translate technical issues for non-technical teams.

About The Role
Jasper has already made its shift to serving the enterprise, and this is the work that continues to strengthen that direction. Our governance domain (authentication, roles and permissions, organizations, billing) is the backbone of every customer interaction, and it needs a Staff-level engineer to own its architecture and modernization. As a Senior Security Engineer at Jasper, you'll be the first true generalist on our Security Engineering team—someone equally comfortable securing and building AI agents and platforms as they are automating GRC controls or hardening cloud infrastructure. This role sits at the center of a fast-moving security function, partnering closely with Engineering, GRC, Product, and IT to protect the systems and AI products Jasper builds.
You'll set technical direction on AI security while still being hands-on across infrastructure, product security, and compliance engineering—a true jack-of-all-trades role that flexes across the full security spectrum as priorities shift. This is a force-multiplier position on a small team where your work will have outsized impact on how Jasper builds securely at scale.
This fully remote role reports to the Director, Security and is open to candidates located anywhere in the US.
Lead the security design, implementation, and controls for Jasper’s AI infrastructure and AI-powered internal workflows—building the guardrails that govern how AI systems access, process, and handle sensitive data at every layer
Own threat modeling for AI-specific risks, including the attack surfaces that don’t map cleanly onto traditional application security, and design controls for validating, logging, and auditing AI outputs where accuracy and data protection are non-negotiable
Build security tooling and automated checks that let internal teams adopt AI capabilities without slowing down
Collaborate, design, and influence the direction of the Security program at Jasper
Work with the GRC team to build and maintain GRC-related engineering—automating evidence collection, control monitoring, and compliance workflows (ie. via Vanta or similar) so the team spends less time on manual audit prep
Strengthen infrastructure security across GCP and AWS: identity and access management, network segmentation, secrets management, and secure-by-default infrastructure patterns
Own and improve GitHub security controls—branch protection, required reviews, secret scanning, dependency/SCA policies, and CI/CD pipeline security
Operate and tune Wiz (or equivalent CSPM/CNAPP tooling) to continuously identify and drive remediation of cloud misconfigurations and vulnerabilities

Lead an accurate and timely month-end close by preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations across cash, prepaids, accruals, intercompany, fixed assets, and other general ledger accounts
Manage close workflows, task tracking, and balance sheet reconciliations within Numeric to drive close efficiency and transparency
Oversee corporate card transactions, employee expense reimbursements, and accounts payable workflows utilizing Ramp
Reconcile subscription billing, SaaS metrics, and payment gateway transactions within Maxio
Maintain equity transaction records, stock-based compensation schedules, and capitalization table reporting in Carta
Oversee monthly variable compensation calculations and proper accounting treatment (ASC 340)
Ensure accounting records, policies, and operational processes adhere strictly to US GAAP and maintain sound internal controls

You will hold core ownership across our monthly close, general ledger operations, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring our financial foundation operates with rigor and scale. In this role, you will partner cross-functionally across the business to streamline processes, enhance internal workflows, and support Jasper’s continued growth.\n\n\n\nThis fully remote role reports to the Controller and is open to candidates located anywhere in the US.\n\n\n\n\n WHAT YOU WILL DO AT JASPER\n\n - Lead an accurate and timely month-end close by preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations across cash, prepaids, accruals, intercompany, fixed assets, and other general ledger accounts\n\n - Manage close workflows, task tracking, and balance sheet reconciliations within Numeric to drive close efficiency and transparency\n\n - Oversee corporate card transactions, employee expense reimbursements, and accounts payable workflows utilizing Ramp\n\n - Reconcile subscription billing, SaaS metrics, and payment gateway transactions within Maxio\n\n - Maintain equity transaction records, stock-based compensation schedules, and capitalization table reporting in Carta\n\n - Oversee monthly variable compensation calculations and proper accounting treatment (ASC 340)\n\n - Ensure accounting records, policies, and operational processes adhere strictly to US GAAP and maintain sound internal controls\n\n - Partner cross-functionally across departments to capture transaction details, investigate reconciling items, and resolve operational variances\n\n - Support the annual financial statement audit, tax filings, and external compliance requirements\n\n - Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting, system enhancements, and special projects as needed\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU WILL BRING TO JASPER \n\n - AI fluency — a working understanding of core AI concepts (LLMs, agents, copilots, tokens, credits, context windows, RAG, data governance, etc.), applied in the context of accounting, financial operations, and workflow automation\n\n - Active CPA license (required)\n\n - 3+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience, ideally in a fast-paced technology or high-growth SaaS environment\n\n - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study\n\n - Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, month-end close procedures, and account reconciliation best practices\n\n - Direct, hands-on experience with modern cloud ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)\n\n - Direct experience working with modern financial and accounting tooling (such as Ramp for spend management, Numeric for close management, Maxio for SaaS billing/revenue, and Carta for equity administration) or comparable platforms\n\n - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines\n\n - High attention to detail and ability to operate independently with minimal direction\n\n - Prior public accounting experience (Big 4 or national firm) strongly preferred\n\n - Exposure to technical accounting areas (e.g., ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 340 capitalized commissions, equity accounting) is a plus \n\n\n\n\nCOMPENSATION RANGE \n\nAt Jasper, we believe in pay transparency and are committed to providing our employees and candidates with access to information about our compensation practices. The expected base salary range offered for this role is $112,500-$125,000.
