Design and develop core functionality for the LiveKit Agents framework

Partner with our Compliance team to map infrastructure controls to PCI-DSS and ISO 27001 and automate the technical evidence those audits depend on.
5+ years in security engineering, infrastructure engineering or SRE, with a significant share of that focused on infrastructure security.
Hands-on experience securing a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP or Azure) and containerized workloads including Kubernetes.
A track record of owning infrastructure security for a production platform.
Fluency with infrastructure as code such as Terraform, and strong scripting and automation skills in a language such as Go or Python.
A pragmatic approach to risk: you can explain why a finding matters to the business and how fast it needs to be fixed.
Experience with real-time media, networking or WebRTC systems.
Experience in AI security, such as securing LLM applications or agent infrastructure.
Incident response or application security experience.
Experience supporting compliance audits such as PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2 or HIPAA.

This is an engineering role with a support component, not the other way around. The bulk of the job is building and owning systems: the identity model in Okta, endpoint baselines in Workspace ONE, governance across Google Workspace and the wider SaaS estate, and the automation that determines how much manual work IT has to absorb in the first place. You'll also carry escalations and some direct support — at our size there's no clean wall between the two, and the person in this role needs to stay close enough to the queue to know which problems are worth engineering away.
You'll work in an Okta, Workspace ONE, Google Workspace, and Slack stack, partnered closely with Security, Engineering, People, and Finance. Internal systems are in audit scope for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI, so the controls you build have to hold up under an auditor's review, not just function day to day.

As an IT Engineer at LiveKit, you will:

4+ years in IT engineering, IT operations, systems administration, endpoint engineering, or identity engineering — ideally somewhere fast-moving and remote-first
You've administered Okta or a comparable identity provider as the owner: SSO, groups, app assignments, lifecycle workflows, real access management decisions
Hands-on with modern MDM — Workspace ONE or equivalent — including provisioning, configuration enforcement, patching, encryption, and inventory
Strong Google Workspace administration and genuine macOS endpoint depth
You've built or meaningfully improved operational workflows, automation, reporting, or internal controls — not just operated someone else's

We're looking for the first Product Manager for LiveKit Telephony: how AI agents utilize the global phone network. Landlines, mobile networks, and enterprise phone systems already connect nearly every person and business on earth. Making an agent a first-class participant on that network is what turns voice AI from a demo into something that picks up a real phone number and does real work.
Our PM team is small and high-leverage, with each PM coming in to establish the foundations in a new area of the business. Telephony is essential to many of the highest-value voice AI use cases running today: call centers, customer support, healthcare triage, outbound sales, appointment scheduling. A large share of our growth comes from enterprises putting agents on the phone at massive volume, and every one of those calls runs through this product.
You'll shape the direction and roadmap for Telephony alongside the engineering leaders who build it, across both sides of the product. On one side is SIP trunking, where enterprises bring the carriers and phone systems they already have and everything has to interoperate, stay up, and sound good. On the other is LiveKit Phone Numbers, our native offering, where we own the carrier relationships and hand a developer a working number in a couple of clicks. Going native lets us control the whole path a call takes, which means fewer hops, better audio, and quality we can actually tune. We intend to offer the fastest and best sounding connection an agent can get, anywhere in the world, and you'll decide how quickly we get there and how far the footprint reaches.

8+ years in product management, at a senior or staff level, with substantial experience managing a developer-facing products in particular.
Technical depth. You can reason about protocols, media paths, latency, call quality, and failure modes, and earn the trust of strong engineers. You don't need to write code, but you need to understand systems well enough to make good tradeoffs.
