We're looking for Full-Stack Software Engineers who want to help businesses of any size move money worldwide. You will contribute to APIs, banking infrastructure and financial workflows that ensure our customers can adopt and scale with Modern Treasury.
Whereas most SaaS companies move data, we move money. Our systems must scale to high volumes, with high accuracy and high reliability. Engineers at Modern Treasury design thoughtful design APIs, implement resilient processes, and choose infrastructure that prioritizes fault tolerance and long-term maintainability over chasing latest trends.
Our application is powered by Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Redis and ParadeDB. As of today, we are on the latest version of each technology. Github and typical CI/CD automation is used for deployments to AWS. While engineers have specialties, engineers can easily contribute to all layers and components of the application without friction.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
2+ years of professional software engineering experience
Interested in full-stack development, including backend jobs, DBs and frontend UX
A history of collaborating with a team to ship a major feature
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Experience with Ruby on Rails, React & Postgres
Experience with financial software for banks, credit card processing or cryptocurrencies.
Ability to thrive in autonomous, engineer driven environment

This is a hands-on devops role with strong ownership over infrastructure architecture and platform automation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure, platform engineering and security. You’ll define how Modern Treasury scales and operates our infrastructure, and guide teams toward cohesive architectural patterns.
You will set direction and build for infrastructure systems that support:
Multi-rail money movement
Real-time payment flows
Ledger-backed transaction processing
High-availability payment orchestration
This is a senior individual contributor role with broad influence across Product, Platform, and Infrastructure teams.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead architecture for AWS infrastructure, container orchestration, and CI/CD to support scalable payment systems
Standardize automation and infrastructure-as-code to provision, scale, and operate high-volume ledger and transaction platforms
Reduce operational overhead through tooling, streamlined workflows, and engineering standards uplift
Optimize performance, reliability, and observability across real-time and rails-specific infrastructure
Define service ownership and operational models, aligning platform and product teams on scalable rail architecture
Contribute to infrastructure and security strategy for new payment rails, including FBO structures, stablecoin integrations, and compliance-focused features
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE
Required
8+ years in Devops, or infrastructure engineering
Strong track record of setting technical direction without direct authority
Experience building internal platforms that abstract complexity away from product teams
Strong experience with:
Designing and operating distributed systems
AWS infrastructure at scale
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
CI/CD systems and automation pipelines
Containerized environments (Docker)
Observability and performance tuning for production systems
Experience with application and product security
Experience scaling systems that process high-volume workloads

What You’ll Do

Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Support to translate customer needs into product feedback and influence roadmap decisions
Deliver business and technical reviews including QBRs and post-mortems, focused on long-term partnership and operational excellence
Help customers design, optimize, and scale payment systems, guiding tradeoffs across performance, reliability, and complexity
Identify opportunities to expand usage, reduce failure modes, and increase automation across customer workflows
Improve internal processes and build scalable, repeatable workflows by leveraging AI tools to accelerate problem-solving and synthesize insights across your customer portfolio
Who You Are
3+ years in client-facing technical roles such as TAM, Solutions Engineer, or Customer Success
Strong experience with REST APIs and integration patterns
Proven ability to troubleshoot issues in production environments
Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to balance reactive questions with proactive account strategy
Experience using AI agents in a work environment
Background in fintech, payments, or financial systems
Familiarity with money movement, ledgering, and reconciliation workflows

We’re looking for a Security Engineer to design and strengthen the controls that protect our payment infrastructure. You’ll enable as well as build secure, compliant financial products while contributing directly to the reliability and automation of our security and infrastructure systems.
Modern Treasury is expanding deeper into money movement. We’re building new products that will let customers move funds across both traditional rails and emerging technologies, including stablecoins. This role is hands-on security engineering with heavy focus on automation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE
Required Experience
6+ years in security engineering, with 3+ years focused on application and product security
Strong experience with:
Full-stack application security (frontend, backend, APIs)
Authentication and authorization systems and identity management
Infrastructure automation related to security (AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines)
Fraud detection, prevention, and abuse mitigation in payment or financial products
Secure SDLC practices and developer security tooling
Experience with incident response and security monitoring

As a Payments Product Manager, you will own products that make up Modern Treasury's Payments offering. You will leverage AI where possible and push the envelope of what AI-enabled product execution looks like. You will be responsible for researching, designing, and delivering products related to:
Onboarding & Compliance: You will help manage the experience of getting customers and their end users onto the platform quickly and safely. You will design onboarding flows that reduce time-to-first-payment while meeting the requirements of banks, partners, and regulators. You will also work closely with our compliance and risk teams to translate KYC, KYB, sanctions, and other regulatory requirements into product.
Payment rails: You will go deep into the design of the rails that power payments — domestic schemes like ACH, wire, and RTP, international and cross-border rails, and emerging options including stablecoins. You will prioritize which rails to add and how to expose them in a unified, reliable way. You will also work with Customer Success and Support teams to ensure reliability and good support in cases of incidents.
Liquidity: You will help define how funds are funded, held, and moved so that customers can settle payments efficiently. You will work on the product capabilities that give customers visibility and control over balances and liquidity across accounts and rails. In this role, you’ll interface with existing bank partners and stablecoin partners, and help scale the Payments across geographies.
AI Fluency: You will help build and run AI-native workflows across the business. This is a hands-on, business-first role: you will identify inefficiencies, scope solutions, and use the best AI tools available to create compounding leverage for the team. You do not need to train models, but you should be fluent in applying modern AI tools to real business problems.
Payments experience: You have built payments products before and are familiar with both US and international payments. You understand how rails work end to end and what it takes to move money reliably at scale.
Cross-border expertise: Ideally, you have experience with both US and international cross-border payment rails, and you understand the operational and regulatory realities of moving money across borders.
Interest in or experience with stablecoins: You have experience with, or a strong interest in, stablecoins. You’ve studied how they work, and have opinions about how they fit into the future of global money movement.
Technical fluency: You relish going deep with engineers on the details of payment systems. You are technical-literate — you can read API docs and bank or scheme specs — and you are comfortable diving into data, including SQL, while knowing when not to.
Customer obsession: You want to spend a ton of time with customers and prospects, understanding their business models, flows of funds, and the support they need. You can translate those needs into clear engineering requirements.
Ownership at scale: You have a track record of shipping and iterating on products and are comfortable with a dynamic, responsive roadmap driven by the demands of customers and partners. You can work across compliance, partnerships, sales, and customer success to deliver.
