About the Team
The Data Foundations team at Patreon builds the pipelines, models, and infrastructure that power both customer-facing and internal data products. The Data Infrastructure function within the team owns the foundational platform — streaming, batch, and data lake infrastructure — that every data pipeline, analytics workload, and ML system at Patreon runs on.
You'll join a small, high-craft team that partners across Product, Data Science, Infrastructure, and the rest of Engineering to make sure the platform underneath all of that work is reliable, scalable, and easy for other engineers to build on.
About the Role
Architect, build, and operate large scale batch and streaming platforms that directly power Patreon product features, analytics, and experimentation.
Stand up and scale event-driven and streaming systems (Kafka, Kinesis, PubSub, or similar) for real-time data ingestion, transformation, aggregation, and delivery to different data storage systems.
Build self-serve data platforms that let engineers, data scientists, and analysts safely discover data, define contracts, and create and operate pipelines with minimal friction.
Partner with the broader Infrastructure, Platform, and product engineering to drive architectural decisions across storage, compute, deployment, and orchestration to align the data ecosystem with Patreon’s roadmap.
Build the tooling, monitoring, and observability that gives engineers confidence in the data platform's reliability and performance.
Mentor other engineers on infrastructure and streaming best practices, and help shape the long-term data infrastructure roadmap.
What you'll need:
8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years focused on data or platform infrastructure.
Deep, hands-on experience architecting both batch (Airflow, Dagster, or similar) and stream processing systems at scale (Spark, Flink, Kafka Streams, or similar).
Familiarity with data quality, lineage, observability, and governance tooling.
Strong programming skills in Python (Java, Scala, or Go a plus) and SQL.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and broad fluency across data stores: Object storage (S3), RDMS (MySQL, or Postgres, etc.), Key value (DynamoDB), OLAP (Clickhouse, Pinot, or Druid, etc.), search/indexing (Elasticsearch) plus data flow patterns for keeping them in sync with source systems.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills; comfortable driving cross-functional infrastructure decisions.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent.
Bonus if you have:
Experience with Delta Lake/Iceberg, AWS, or Databricks.
Contributed to open-source streaming or infrastructure tooling.
Experience supporting ML/AI workflows, training pipelines, or evaluation systems.

What you'll need
Significant experience building large-scale backend systems, with depth in distributed systems and platform architecture (typically 6-8+ years, or equivalent demonstrated expertise)
Strong expertise in distributed systems, high-throughput APIs, and low-latency architectures that support millions of DAUs
Experience with databases, caching systems, and storage technologies (e.g. MySQL, Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB)
Strong understanding of data modeling, storage systems, caching, queues, and event-driven architectures
Experience in performance optimization across APIs, databases, caching layers, and distributed services
Strong operational excellence mindset, including incident response and production debugging
Experience operating systems in cloud-native environments such as AWS and Kubernetes-based infrastructure
Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Python, Go, Java, or Rust
Ability to communicate architectural trade-offs clearly in writing and in cross-functional forums

Key Responsibilities:

Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborate closely with PBPs, Finance, Legal, and Talent Acquisition teams to ensure seamless execution of compensation programs. Provide guidance on compensation-related matters to enable effective decision-making.
Compliance and Governance: Stay up-to-date with relevant labor laws and regulations to ensure that Patreon’s compensation programs remain compliant. Maintain accurate documentation of compensation-related policies and practices.

About You
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
7+ years of progressive experience in compensation, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Deep understanding of compensation theories, methodologies, and best practices.
Experience with equity program management.
Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in data analysis and utilization of compensation survey data.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
Extremely data driven, thorough, and meticulous.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing compensation strategies aligned with business goals.

Patreon is looking for an Engineering Leader to lead our Payments team. This is one of the most consequential parts of Patreon's business: the systems that let creators earn a living and get paid reliably, and that let fans support them with a seamless, trustworthy checkout experience.

12+ years of software engineering experience and 7+ years of experience managing engineering managers and teams

Comfort owning both the \"keep the lights on\" reliability work and new product bets in the same portfolio
Experience navigating vendor relationships and build-vs-buy decisions for critical infrastructure

The Finance team at Patreon ensures the business runs efficiently, compliantly, and with integrity as we continue to scale globally. Our Tax team owns Patreon's global tax obligations end to end, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and the rest of Finance to build scalable processes that keep pace with a fast-growing, international creator platform.
About the Role
The Director, Indirect Tax is responsible for all indirect taxes across all aspects of the business. Think marketplace sales taxes, ESS, VAT, GST, JCT, etc. This role will be very hands-on and play an integral part in all aspects of tax operations, from collections through remittance. As a Director, you will work closely with Product and Engineering teams as well as the Finance team, to scope, design, and enhance the way our product handles indirect taxes.
Key Responsibilities:
Join a small but mighty tax team guiding a fast-growing, world-class Creator-oriented company.
Be our expert on all things indirect tax.
Lead the preparation of indirect tax returns as well as supporting calculations, work-papers, and payments, ensuring all external deadlines are met.
Be able to clearly explain our tax obligations to internal and external stakeholders, and help build a path towards full compliance with those obligations.
Act as a first point of contact for organization and Creator/Patron tax queries. Help develop resources to allow Patrons and Creators to understand and comply with tax obligations across the world. Do the best we can to demystify what should be a pain-free and straightforward process.
Keep abreast of legislative updates and initiate changes on our platform to ensure compliance.
Manage tax controversies, including providing response to various information document requests from tax authorities, coordinate with local tax advisors on reviews, strategize the audit plan and quantify tax/reserve impact to financial statements.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations and reporting schedules, providing commentary and variance analysis.
Work closely with management and external auditors to ensure the company is compliant with the latest accounting guidance, FAS 5 reserves and SOX.
Research and analysis identifying and exploring indirect tax opportunities and exposures related to global footprint expansion, systems and controls, refunds and cash flow management and projections.

About You
10–12+ years experience in indirect tax.
Intimate knowledge of VAT/GST and similar transaction taxes.
Prior experience with electronically supplied service providers and marketplace providers.
Strong experience and knowledge in U.S. GAAP, FAS 5, and internal controls.
Experience with informational reporting (Forms 1099, 5471, etc.).
Direct prior experience with interpretation and application of developing law.
Proven success in tax controversy management and settlement.
Previous experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on U.S. state and international tax issues.
Self-starter, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities.
Team leader, able to shepherd projects from beginning to end.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The Office of the CEO provides high-touch support to Patreon's CEO & Co-Founder and executive team, spanning calendar management, communications, travel, and cross-functional coordination. This role partners closely with the Chief of Staff to keep the CEO's priorities, schedule, and business rhythms running smoothly.
As a member of the Office of the CEO, you will provide support to the CEO & Co-Founder and work closely with the Chief of Staff
Proactively manage complex calendars 3-6 months out, partnering closely with Biz Ops to ensure the CEO's calendar and the exec team's calendars stay aligned; maintain and adjust business rhythms as needed
Proactively communicate calendar updates and priorities to the Rhythm of Business (ROB) stakeholders (Business Operations, Executive Assistants, Communications teammates)
Maintain the CEO's inbox, draft correspondence

About the Role

You have deeper knowledge (three or more years) in at least one security or security-adjacent domain (infrastructure security, application security, cloud security, corporate/IT security, cryptography, privacy, etc.)
You can develop software (Python, Rust, Golang, or a similar language). You have experience working in a modern software development environment (git, CI/CD, LLM coding tools, etc.)
You have experience using AI tools (LLMs, ML models, etc) to identify and address security issues (software vulnerabilities, detection and response, etc.)
You’re energized by fast iteration: shipping MVPs, testing hypotheses, and evolving products based on what creators and fans respond to.

Partner closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and technical leadership to define and run sourcing strategy for Engineering, Product, and Design roles across a range of levels, from early-career to senior and staff-plus
Run intake conversations with hiring teams to understand the technical needs of each role, translate them into target profiles, and set clear sourcing goals and timelines
Proactively identify and engage passive talent through LinkedIn, GitHub, open-source communities, technical forums, portfolios, conferences, and other channels where technical talent spends time
Write personalized, compelling outreach that earns responses from in-demand engineers, product managers, and designers, and continuously test and refine messaging based on what works

What you’ll need
3+ years of experience sourcing for technical roles (Engineering required; Product and/or Design a plus) at high-growth technology companies or startup
Strong understanding of the technical landscape: you can speak credibly about roles, stacks, and levels (for example, backend vs. frontend vs. mobile vs. infrastructure/ML) and evaluate profiles against a role's core requirements
Hands-on experience with sourcing tools and channels such as LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Stack Overflow, social media, and technical communities and forums. Juicebox souring strongly preferred
Experience with an applicant tracking system; Ashby experience strongly preferred
A track record of crafting creative, data-informed sourcing strategies that build a consistent, diverse pipeline of qualified candidates

About the Team
Patreon’s Strategy & Operations team drives decision-making on the company’s most important priorities. We tackle business-critical problems, shape initiatives that move the company forward, and make sure our growth levers, investments, and opportunities are clearly understood and acted upon.
We translate data into insights, insights into strategy, and strategy into action — partnering closely with the executive team and leaders across the business to turn ideas into business outcomes.

About the Role
In this role, you will:
Lead major strategy workstreams: Own strategies like fan community, international expansion, and new monetization methods, from diagnosing what's working and where we're exposed to defining the strategy, then supporting teams as they execute and tracking progress against it.
Ground every strategy in rigorous analysis: Size opportunities with models, desk research, and data, using AI tools to move quickly and work autonomously, and pressure-test quantitative work from Finance, Data Science, and Research.
Drive alignment and delivery: Bring executives and cross-functional leaders to clear decisions on high-stakes questions, and keep large teams moving from strategy to shipped outcomes.
Own company-level strategic narratives: Translate company performance and strategy into clear, decision-ready narratives, and shape recurring forums like All Hands, Business Reviews, and Board meetings.
What you'll need:
Strategy Experience: 8+ years in consulting and corporate strategy, helping companies make high-stakes decisions. You're energized by untangling complex problems and turning analysis into real-world impact.
Structured Thinking: You break down ambiguous problems with first-principles thinking, challenge assumptions, and land on well-reasoned recommendations, balancing speed and accuracy.
Analytical Rigor: You can build and stress-test models (market and opportunity sizing), and you have a sharp eye for flaws in others' analysis. You're comfortable with both quantitative and qualitative data, and you use AI tools to move faster.
Influence Without Authority: You build trust and drive outcomes across executives and cross-functional teams (Finance, Data Science, Research, Product, GTM), even when priorities compete.
Executive Storytelling: You distill complexity into clear, compelling narratives for audiences from partner teams to the board.
Execution: You connect strategy to shipped outcomes and keep large cross-functional efforts moving.
Ownership: You thrive on a small team with a large scope, minimal structure, and real accountability.
