We’re looking for an engineer to build and operate the core systems that power Phylo’s agentic AI platform in production. You’ll design and implement the distributed systems, compute environments, and service architecture that allow our AI agents to run reliably at scale — across cloud-native deployments and enterprise environments.

What you’ll do as a Member of Technical Staff - System Engineering at Phylo:
Design and build production systems that orchestrate agent execution and power AI-driven scientific workloads.
Build and operate scalable, reliable infrastructure across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem enterprise environments.
Develop systems for sandboxed execution, secure task isolation, and controlled compute environments. Design and implement security, access control, and compliance foundations suitable for enterprise deployments.
Design and operate the storage and data systems behind large-scale scientific workloads, including distributed file systems, object storage, and databases.
Partner closely with ML and science teams to translate computational workflows into robust, production-grade distributed systems.
What We're Looking For:
3+ years of industry experience in backend, infrastructure, or distributed systems engineering.
Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Rust, or similar).
Experience designing and operating distributed systems in production.
Deep hands-on experience with containerization and Kubernetes.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent).
Experience operating systems on at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Hands-on experience building or operating large-scale distributed file systems, storage platforms, or databases in production.
Comfort owning systems end-to-end in fast-moving, high-autonomy environments.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Product Engineer to help build and scale the core product experiences of Phylo’s AI agent platform. This is a highly versatile, full-stack role with a frontend lean, focused on turning cutting-edge agentic research into fast, reliable, and delightful products used by real scientists.
You’ll own product features end-to-end — from UI and interaction design to backend APIs, billing, authentication, and integrations — and work closely with AI researchers, scientists, and infrastructure engineers to ship production-grade systems quickly without sacrificing quality.
This role is deeply interdisciplinary. You’ll spend a lot of time listening, asking questions, and translating between scientists, product, engineering, and AI research. Build and own full-stack product features across the Phylo platform, from user-facing UI to backend services.

We’re hiring a hands-on Security & Compliance Lead to build and scale Phylo’s security, privacy, and compliance program. You’ll own our compliance roadmap, lead audits and customer reviews, and work closely with engineering to turn requirements into practical controls.

About the Role
Our Scientific Solutions team is where our science meets our customers. We're hiring forward deployed scientists with industry experience to partner closely with our enterprise customers, raise the scientific bar of our agents, and make sure outputs hold up under real scientific scrutiny.
The role has two parts: One is constructing the bio environment our agents rely on: building and curating the biomedical skills, tools, databases, and data integrations that power them. The other is making sure the science holds up: designing evaluation pipelines and benchmarks, and doing direct scientific review to measure whether agents meet the standards of working scientists. You'll do both while embedded with customers: running training sessions, scoping and delivering solutions on high-stakes projects, and feeding what you learn back into the product.
We're building a team that spans the drug R&D pipeline, so we're hiring across three areas of depth: discovery, IND-enabling, and clinical/translational. You don't need all three; you need to go deep in at least one and be conversant across the rest.
What you’ll do as a Member of Technical Staff - Forward Deployed Scientist at Phylo:
Partner with enterprise customers in biotech and pharma to understand their scientific workflows and bring those needs into the product.
Construct bio environments for our agents: build and curate biomedical skills, tools, databases, and data integrations that expand what agents can do.
Evaluate agent performance across biomedical domains through internal benchmarks, structured evals, and direct scientific review.
Validate the scientific accuracy and rigor of agent outputs and drive improvements back into the product with the AI team.
Deliver in the field: run training sessions, help customers scope and solve real problems, and own delivery from first hypothesis to production.
Serve as the scientific voice in customer engagements, deployments, and feedback loops.
What We're Looking For:
PhD training in a relevant field (or MD/PhD or equivalent), with strong command of common biomedical tools, databases, and analytical workflows.
Industry experience in biotech or pharma (computational biology, bioinformatics, or a closely related function).
Solid engineering skills: writing code, building pipelines, and working with biological data at scale.
Comfort working directly with enterprise customers and translating their scientific needs into technical requirements, including running training sessions.
A strong communicator who can explain complex ideas clearly to both scientists and executives.
Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced research and product environment.
Deep expertise in at least one of the following areas (and comfort collaborating across the others):
Discovery: identifying and optimizing therapeutic candidates across modalities. On the small-molecule side: screening (biochemical, cell-based, or phenotypic), hit-to-lead, and lead optimization; SAR analysis and medicinal chemistry / cheminformatics; chemical and bioactivity data (e.g. ChEMBL, PubChem). On the biologics side: protein and binder design, antibody discovery, de novo protein design, protein engineering, and affinity maturation.
IND-Enabling (preclinical): nonclinical safety and toxicology, DMPK, PK/PD modeling, exposure-response and dose selection; familiarity with the regulatory requirements and study designs that support an IND filing.
Clinical & Translational: biomarker strategy, mechanism-of-action confirmation, patient stratification, and translational PK/PD; early clinical development (Phase 1/2, first-in-human); real-world evidence and clinical data (EHR, claims, registries; RWD analysis for effectiveness and safety).
Nice to Have
AI-native working style; fluent with modern AI coding tools and agent-based workflows.
Experience with LLMs, agents, or AI/ML systems applied to biomedical problems.
Familiarity with foundation models: genomic foundation models, protein language models, or vision models for pathology/imaging.

About the Role
Phylo launched publicly on the back of a $13.5M seed round co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Menlo Ventures/Anthropic. We have strong enterprise inbound, active deployments, and a growing pipeline of pharma and biotech teams adopting Biomni Lab. We have proven the motion. Now we are building the engine.
This is an early quota-carrying seat on a commercial team that is being built deliberately. You will own a book of enterprise pharma and biotech accounts end to end and carry a number, while partnering with our GTM leader, founders, and scientists to convert real momentum into repeatable, expanding revenue. You will run the full cycle as a solution-minded seller: someone who can sit in a pharma R&D meeting, understand the science, and design a proposal that lands. You are here to close, expand, and help sharpen the playbook as we scale it.
What you’ll do as an Account Executive at Phylo:
Carry a quota and own enterprise biotech and pharma accounts end to end: outbound, discovery, qualification, proposal design, pilot, close, and expansion.
Convert active pilots and POCs into committed, growing revenue, with a clear plan to move each engagement from evaluation to production.
Run a disciplined sales process using MEDDPICC to qualify hard, multi-thread, and forecast accurately.
Act as a solution owner: gather the scientist's problem statement, partner with the technical team to design a tailored solution, and present it back with credibility.
Multi-thread across R&D leaders, computational biology and data science teams, technical champions, procurement, and economic buyers.
Drive land-and-expand on a consumption model: identify usage growth, surface new use cases, and bring new teams onto the platform.
Keep pipeline hygiene and forecasting tight in the CRM, working fluently across a modern outbound and sales stack.
Feed market signal back to GTM and product to sharpen positioning, packaging, and the roadmap.
What We're Looking For:
Proven track record closing enterprise deals in big pharma and biotech, ideally within R&D and the drug discovery process (target discovery, lead optimization, translational, and adjacent workflows).
Working fluency with MEDDPICC (or a comparable methodology) and the discipline to run it consistently across a complex cycle.
Experience selling a consumption-based or usage-based platform, with command of the forecasting and expansion dynamics that come with it.
Strong scientific literacy: you can discuss experimental design, evaluate data sources, and hold your own with R&D and computational biology stakeholders. Background in biology, computational biology, or biomedical science strongly preferred.
Intellectual curiosity: you go deep on both the science and the technology, ask sharp questions, and keep learning in a field that is moving fast.
Comfort navigating long, multi-stakeholder enterprise cycles through technical champions, procurement, and senior economic buyers.
Self-starter who thrives in an early-stage environment with limited reference customers and process that is still being written.
Excellent communication: crisp written proposals, clear presentations, and credibility in both the boardroom and at the bench.

About the Role
We’re looking for an engineer with research or production experience in AI agents to build and evaluate systems that make our agents capable, reliable, and measurably better.
The model is only one part of an agent; the harness shapes how it plans, uses tools, manages context, coordinates work, and recovers from failure. You will own these systems in production and build evaluations to measure whether changes improve performance. The work includes bringing the latest advances and original ideas into production. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering execution with a quantitative mindset and an interest in AI agents for scientific discovery.
What you’ll do as a Member of Technical Staff - Agent Engineer at Phylo:
Advance the agent harness by bringing the latest research and open-source developments into production and experimenting with new approaches to multi-agent coordination, model routing, memory, planning, and tool use.
Build rigorous evaluations that measure agent quality, reliability, latency, and cost on representative scientific tasks.
Monitor agent quality in production, troubleshoot failures quickly in high-ambiguity situations, and translate findings into engineering improvements.
Collaborate on reliable infrastructure for long-running sessions, safe sandboxed execution, background work, and subagents.
Partner with scientists and engineers to evaluate and productionize new agent capabilities.
What We're Looking For:
Strong software engineering experience building production backend systems, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
Research or production experience in machine learning, or another quantitative discipline.
Familiarity with LLM APIs, tool calling, agent runtimes, or workflow orchestration.
Strong quantitative judgment and the ability to determine whether an apparent improvement is real, reproducible, and meaningful.
Ability to move between research questions, data analysis, system design, and production implementation.
Experience or strong interest in AI for science, scientific agents, computational research, or automated scientific discovery.
Experience working in AI-native teams that use coding agents or automation extensively.
High ownership, clear communication, and strong engineering judgment.
We care more about demonstrated ability than a particular credential. Relevant backgrounds may include ML or LLM engineering, academic research paired with substantial software development, scientific computing, or production systems engineering with demonstrated quantitative experience.
Nice to haves:
Experience with LLM evaluations, human evaluation, model judges, replay testing, benchmark design, or experiment tracking.
Experience applying classical machine learning methods alongside LLMs in production systems.
Experience with task queues, event streams, Kubernetes, code sandboxes, or durable workflow systems.
An advanced degree or equivalent experience in machine learning, computational biology, physics, applied mathematics, statistics, or a related field.

About the Role
We’re hiring our first in-house recruiter— someone who will personally lead our most important searches while building the recruiting function around them.
You will own recruiting end to end across business, scientific, and engineering roles, from defining talent profiles and sourcing exceptional candidates through interviews, offers, and close. You’ll work directly with Phylo’s founders and hiring managers to build a rigorous, fast, and distinctly human hiring process.
This is a hands-on role. You should be excited to spend much of your time finding and engaging exceptional people—not simply managing agencies or administering a process. Over time, you will build the systems, employer brand, and team needed to support Phylo’s growth.
What you’ll do as our first recruiter at Phylo:
Lead hiring end to end. Own full-cycle recruiting across business, scientific, and engineering roles—from defining talent profiles and building pipelines through interviews, offers, and close.
Build exceptional outbound pipelines. Develop creative sourcing strategies for senior and specialized roles, building trusted relationships across leading technology companies, research labs, biotech organizations, and academic institutions.
Build Phylo’s recruiting operating system. Establish role calibration, structured interview loops, clear rubrics, interviewer training, and reliable reporting. Own the ATS as the source of truth and continually improve speed, quality, and candidate experience.
Protect the bar and close exceptional people. Help hiring teams recognize capability beyond pedigree, maintain consistent standards, and communicate Phylo’s mission and opportunity credibly to candidates from different professional and technical backgrounds.
Scale our talent function thoughtfully. Build Phylo’s employer brand, use AI and automation to multiply your impact, and determine when additional recruiters, agencies, tools, or programs are needed as the company grows.
What We're Looking For:
A versatile, high-caliber recruiter. You have at least five years of experience and a track record of personally sourcing and closing exceptional business, scientific, and engineering talent in a high-bar, fast-moving environment.
A builder and operator. You have created recruiting processes, interview systems, tooling, or employer-brand programs from an early stage. Experience as an early or founding recruiter is especially valuable.
Excellent judgment and partnership skills. You recognize capability beyond credentials, learn unfamiliar domains quickly, and can challenge and calibrate hiring managers without adding unnecessary friction.
High agency and an AI-native approach. You take ownership from diagnosis through execution, communicate clearly, and use AI, automation, and modern recruiting tools to improve your reach, speed, and effectiveness.
