Legion is Picogrid's core platform: it connects sensors, cameras, drones, and third-party systems into a single operational picture that military users rely on in live missions. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll own significant pieces of that platform end to end — from API design through deployment and operation in production.
You'll work on things like:
Designing and building backend services in Go — REST and gRPC APIs and event-driven pipelines that serve real-time sensor and video feeds.
Building integrations that connect Legion to hardware devices and common operating pictures (COP) like TAK, so data flows to operators wherever they are.
Building command-and-control (C2) capabilities — tasking systems that let operators connect and task any device in the field, from cameras to drones to sensors, through a single interface.
Designing the data models and ingestion pipelines that keep high volumes of telemetry, detections, and geospatial data queryable at mission scale.
Everything you build runs in production across cloud and disconnected edge environments, so the problems are system-level: data arriving from unreliable networks, integrations with hardware that doesn't follow the spec, and users who need the platform to work the first time, every time. You'll talk directly with the operators and partners who use what you build, and you'll frequently ship something one week that's used in the field the next.
This role fits an engineer who wants ownership over outcomes rather than tickets — someone who is comfortable making architectural decisions, holds a high bar for code quality and testing, and finds it motivating (not stressful) that their work has an immediate, tangible effect on national security.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
5+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience in fast-paced, production environments using Go, Python, TypeScript, or similar languages.
Strong background in APIs, distributed systems, data pipelines, or real-time processing.
Deep experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), object stores (e.g., S3, MinIO), and geospatial tools.
Strong grasp of HTTP APIs (REST, gRPC, GraphQL) and authentication/authorization models.
History of working directly with customers to build and deliver meaningful software.
Demonstrated ability to operate with urgency, ownership, and high engineering standards.
Exposure to DOD IL5+, Top Secret, and JWICS environments, including understanding of DOD RMF, FedRAMP, or NIST 800-53.
Experience supporting Golang-based applications in production.
Experience building plugins or integrations for common military command-and-control (C2) platforms (e.g. TAK, Maven, Lattice).
Base salary range: $150,000 - $220,000 per year. Base salary is just one part of your total compensation package at Picogrid.

Picogrid is seeking a Harnessing Technician to help build the next generation of American defense technology. As a core member of Picogrid’s hardware engineering team, you will help define our engineering culture and product roadmap.
As a Harnessing Technician, you will work on the PCBAs and electrical systems powering Picogrid's current (e.g. Lander, Helios) and future (unannounced) hardware platforms, enabling the deployment of unmanned and autonomous systems into operations around the world.
You will own the wire harness manufacturing process from blank-sheet design to in-field troubleshooting and work alongside Picogrid’s world-class engineering team coming from companies including SpaceX, Google, Twitter, and more.
Assume ownership over the harness manufacturing process, working with the rest of the engineering team in assembling, maintaining, and operating mechanical and electrical systems
Obsess about quality, look for improvements that speed up and simplify processes
Perform a variety of mechanical and wiring tasks, including repetitive and non-repetitive fabrication, final end product assembly, and field maintenance
Develop manufacturing jigs to increase speed and yield of harness manufacturing
Follow electrical schematics and harness drawings, and complete wiring tasks including crimping, building harnesses, wiring switchgear, soldering SMT and through-hole components
Troubleshoot and rework circuit designs in development
Prepare and execute electrical and environmental test plans for PCBAs and end products
Manage part inventory for harness and PCBA assembly processes
Organize and maintain tooling and equipment involved in harness manufacturing
Respect workplace safety guidelines and take LV DC safety seriously
Travel 15-25% of your time across interesting and unique parts of the country to perform equipment installations and servicing
2+ years of experience with electrical/mechanical assembly

Track record of leadership demonstrated through management, public service, community organizing, or similar experience

Picogrid is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, build, and deploy mission-critical hardware systems that support U.S. defense operations. You will own the full design lifecycle for various hardware products: from rapid prototyping and validation through production and direct field deployment. Your work is not bench-bound; you will collaborate closely with software, mechanical, and deployment teams to ensure systems operate reliably in harsh environments from deserts to flightlines to active field operations. Expect fast iteration and minimal layers between your engineering and the end user, driving real-world mission impact.
2+ years of industry experience designing and releasing custom PCBAs into production. This role is open to both mid-level and senior engineers.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Deep understanding of high-speed digital design, signal integrity, power electronics, and common electronic circuits. Proven experience in schematic capture and PCB design for high-reliability applications (aerospace, defense, or similar industries preferred).
Growth mindset, results-oriented focus, and proficiency in leveraging modern tools to maximize productivity.
Ability to interpret and apply design specifications, datasheets, and technical drawings.

Participate in collaborative design discussions as a SME on manufacturing and assembly practices.
Obsess about quality, look for improvements that speed up and simplify processes.
Perform a variety of mechanical and wiring tasks, including repetitive and bespoke fabrication, final end product assembly, and field maintenance. Use in-house manufacturing capabilities to fabricate custom parts.
Develop manufacturing jigs to increase speed and yield of the manufacturing process.
Follow 3D CAD and assembly drawings to complete assembly and fabrications tasks including:
installing fasteners, rivets, and fittings
building enclosures and brackets
applying gaskets, adhesives, and coatings
Document your work and keep traceable as-built documentation for each piece of hardware you build. Assist in keeping source-of-truth CAD up to date by providing redline feedback.
Leverage modern software tools to increase productivity and improve visibility.
Troubleshoot design proposals and provide engineering feedback as a key member of the development team.
Manage and maintain stock levels for BOM parts and related materials.
Keep your working space tidy and organized. Be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of manufacturing equipment and space.

We’re looking for entrepreneurial, product- and customer-focused full-stack engineers to own up to several bespoke UIs for users from interceptor drone navigators to security forces operators. When a feature needs changes in other parts of our system you will often jump in and help implement those. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role where you’ll shape real-time geospatial UIs that integrate live video, maps, and controls for complex defense systems. You will work closely with product, design, and customers to turn ambiguous needs into shipping products at lightning speed. You will occasionally travel to the customer to help learn the real requirements and constraints and iterate with them in the field. The role is frontend-heavy (React / TypeScript), but you should be comfortable working across the stack when needed.
Experience building production frontend applications with React and TypeScript (or equivalent modern web stack).
Strong intuition for UI/UX.

The right person for this role is equally comfortable in a congressional hearing room and a field briefing. You understand defense acquisition as well as you understand appropriations. You can distill how a hardware-software stack enabling unmanned system orchestration changes the character of warfare, and explain why that matters to a staffer with five minutes to spare.
Own and execute Picogrid's full government affairs strategy at the federal level: build and maintain deep relationships with key decision-makers across Congress, OSD, the military services, combatant commands, and relevant interagency stakeholders, including defense appropriations and armed services committees.
Drive Picogrid's positioning in relevant defense budget cycles: identifying funding lines, influencing program office priorities, and supporting business development with strategic intelligence from the Hill and Pentagon.
Develop and communicate clear, compelling policy positions on issues critical to Picogrid's mission, including export controls, open architecture standards, and technology competition with peer adversaries.
Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team on political developments, policy risks, and government relationship management, and represent Picogrid externally at key industry events, hearings, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
Hire and manage an internal team, external advisors, lobbyists, and consultants as the function grows.
Build coalitions with aligned defense tech companies, trade associations, and national security organizations to advance shared policy goals.
8+ years of experience in government affairs, defense policy, congressional affairs, or related roles, with a demonstrable track record of influencing policy and procurement outcomes.
Experience building out a Government Affairs function and team at a high growth technology company
Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical capabilities into accessible, compelling policy narratives.
Comfort operating as a founder-minded, high-ownership individual contributor
Strong written and verbal communication skills; executive presence and credibility with senior government officials.

7+ years of progressive experience in People Operations, Human Resources, or HR Business Partner roles, including experience in high-growth startup environments.

Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws with the judgment to navigate complex employee situations while balancing business and employee needs.
Experience building scalable people processes, maintaining HR systems, and using data to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.

Own the monthly close and financial reporting
Own key areas of the monthly close and help drive toward a consistent 5-business-day close.
Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Review operating expenses for appropriate classification and departmental allocation.
Support revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and deferred revenue accounting.
Perform flux and variance analysis to identify unusual activity and improve financial statement accuracy.
Perform bank reconciliations and cash matching.
Help improve and automate our procure-to-pay and expense processes as we scale.
Build an audit-ready accounting function
Prepare clear, well-supported financial statement schedules and audit-ready workpapers.
Support Picogrid's annual financial statement audit and coordinate audit requests.
Help implement and operationalize accounting policies as the business grows.
Build processes and documentation that strengthen the accuracy and scalability of the accounting function.
Build better systems and processes
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive accounting processes and accelerate the close.
Improve integrations and workflows across the finance stack.
Leverage AI and automation tools to reduce manual work while maintaining strong financial controls.
Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and other teams on accounting and systems initiatives.
Take on increasingly complex accounting responsibilities as Picogrid and the Finance organization grow.
2+ years of progressive accounting or audit experience.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting fundamentals.
Ability to independently investigate discrepancies and drive issues through resolution.
Strong attention to detail while understanding the broader business context behind the numbers.
Comfort operating in an environment where processes are still being built and improved.
Strong systems aptitude and the ability to learn new finance tools quickly.

As Visual Designer, you will apply and extend Picogrid's brand across presentations, technical diagrams, documents, hardware, and merchandise. Working closely with the Design Lead, who sets brand direction, you will help standardize brand visuals, apply them to new surfaces, and build the tools that make them easy to reproduce.
You will partner with Marketing, Engineering,, and Business Development and have real ownership over brand applications and the workflows behind them. You will be expected to make informed decisions and find creative ways to support quality at speed.
This role is ideal for a designer with strong graphic design fundamentals, who enjoys building visual identities, working in multiple mediums and is already experimenting seriously with AI-assisted production.
Create elegant, clear graphics and communication across physical and digital surfaces
Develop and extend the brand system - work with the Design Lead to formalize and document brand standards, then apply them to new surfaces as the company grows
Develop templates for presentations, product graphics and documentation
Turn standards into tools that allow non-design teammates to produce high quality output
Build AI-assisted brand workflows - create and maintain custom instructions, skills, prompt libraries, and generation pipelines that encode our standards where teammates already work

Picogrid is seeking a detail-oriented Site Operations Associate to support security operations for a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) project. The Site Operations Associate serves as the first line of access control at the facility, ensuring that only authorized personnel enter and exit and that all movement is accurately tracked and reported. This role requires strong judgment, clear communication, and consistent adherence to security protocols.
Serve as the entry point control POC, controlling and monitoring all ingress and egress at the facility entrance.
Maintain continuous communication with the SCIF project point of contact and headquarters throughout each shift.
Maintain and update the list of authorized visitors and personnel, verifying access eligibility before entry is granted.
Positively identify all personnel entering and exiting the facility, and record entry and exit times in the access log.
Conduct identification checks and recognize violations of security protocol, documenting and reporting them according to established procedures.
Communicate professionally and effectively with personnel requesting access, including explaining access requirements and escorting procedures.
Notify supervision immediately of any breach, attempted breach, or suspicious activity at the entry point.
Support shift turnover by briefing incoming personnel on access activity, open issues, and any incidents.

This role requires strong judgment, clear communication, and consistent adherence to security protocols.\n\n\n\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n - Serve as the entry point control POC, controlling and monitoring all ingress and egress at the facility entrance.\n\n - Maintain continuous communication with the SCIF project point of contact and headquarters throughout each shift.\n\n - Maintain and update the list of authorized visitors and personnel, verifying access eligibility before entry is granted.\n\n - Positively identify all personnel entering and exiting the facility, and record entry and exit times in the access log.\n\n - Conduct identification checks and recognize violations of security protocol, documenting and reporting them according to established procedures.\n\n - Communicate professionally and effectively with personnel requesting access, including explaining access requirements and escorting procedures.\n\n - Notify supervision immediately of any breach, attempted breach, or suspicious activity at the entry point.\n\n - Support shift turnover by briefing incoming personnel on access activity, open issues, and any incidents.\n \n \n\nWhat We're Looking For\nNo prior security experience is required.
